Reports are popping up on the web about shooting at an ELEMENTARY SCHOOL in Connecticut. Details appear to be sketchy, but early reports say multiple wounded.

Can't wait for the folks at Fox 'News' to spin this.

CNN reporting that the shooter is dead, unclear if police shot them or if it was self inflicted.

Very distressing! As a grandparent of three, I view schools (and pre-schools) as "safe havens". I willingly provide photo ID whenever I pick up the little ones.

What happened to security in this instance?

I feel like my brain is folding in on itself and does NOT want to take in any more of this information. Naturally, the first comment on the Hartford Courant website says it's all the fault of "the liberals."

News 12 Long Island is reporting that the school principal and the school psychologist were killed. Another person was shot in the leg.

"ABC News has confirmed that more than a dozen have been killed, adults and children, in the school massacre."

Reports are varied, but now they are reporting at least 10 children are dead and there may be another gunman who is at large. It's believed that the killed gunman was a parent of one of the students.

This is sickening!

Nothing happened to them. They admitted the shooter, who was a parent they knew.

CBS & AP are reporting 27 dead, including 18 children.

On ABC news I heard one comment that an entire classroom was unaccounted for. I hope that is not a fact.

CBS is reporting that a second man is in custody, although his role is unclear at this time.

Multiple news sources are reporting that the gun man was a 20-year-old male from New Jersey. Doesn't sound like a parent to me.

*edit* They're saying he DID have ties to the school. They aren't sure how the New Jersey angle fits in.
