I guess it depends on the type of bar.
What part of "under age" do they not understand?
No.
LOL!
We eat at a restaurant here all the time, and wait in the bar for a table. My son (who is 6) sits right at the bar and eats peanuts and drinks his root beer. The bartenders all love him.
" Look at you, you have a baby... In a bar. ..."
Anyone?
Good lord, Matt Gross looks tweaked out of his mind on meth.

I take my son to the same tavern before every Cubs game. In Illinois a minor cannot sit at the bar, but can be in a bar during reasonable hours.

Taz, the one on the pole is my wife! Did you copy that from my Facebook??? Updated On: 3/2/10 at 05:49 PM
Oh dear Lord. Where are you getting these pictures, Taz? LOL!
brd, Henry probably shouldn't be sitting at the actual bar at Pizza Plant either, but it's not the kind of place where anyone would really care. It's very family friendly.
I was pretty much raised in a bar and I really dont think you want your kids to grow up to be me, so I am going to say no. keep them away lol.
And Jordan - Sweet Home Alabama
Why is it every time you see an article or program about nudists, they always look like that?
My entire childhood, while with my Dad, was spent in various taverns and pubs where I got to play shuffleboard while Dad got sh*t faced. I really don't think it is a good environment for children. I do believe it was the nurture part that helped me have a problem with alcohol later in life.
I can understand sitting at the bar while waiting for your table.
I'm thinking of a bar, as in, "Cheers", or a local bar. I would hate to walk in and see a child in there.
And I know "Cheers" was set downstairs of a resturant. The two should just be kept seperate.
Hell, maybe they should think about putting a bar at a playground, and make it easy for everyone...
Nah, I don't like to see kids in bars. I think they're "big people" places.
Most playgrounds have signs saying : Adults without children prohibited. Why can't bars be : Adults with children prohibited?
Diva, that's why I said it depends on the type of bar. I'd never bring Henry to a club or something like that of course.
In Ireland the pub owners have their kids working in the bar. It's just different there. You go into a pub on any given night and there are kids in there.
If playgrounds had bars, I'd be there alot more often.
SNAFU, because most adults in a playground without a child are creepy.

Well in America, chinese take out places have kids working behind the counter taking orders so it's not as different as you think.

This is true. Except a chinese take out doesn't serve alcohol.
Which I've always felt thought was a shame.
Yes, it's a good thing I don't like Chinese food.
The dad in the article who complains about being excluded from the adult world- why does it have to be at a bar? Are there no restaurants or coffee shops in Brooklyn?
