I still love Wade's "Waiting (for the world to change)" as one of my fave numbers.

I thought the contemporary piece from Travis not so rivetting and some other genres more difficult. also...it was pretty clear who they liked when the "faves" blew their group routine.

Anyway...that whole Wopping Kineta, Wopka Kineetta, Marysville thing started pissing me off. I am looking forward to the season and were diappointed with a couple of cuts.

How could the judges have so much praise for Anthony Burrell, yet cut him at the end!! I'm very disappointed with that one.

I guess they got rid of crazy hair-do girl.

Billy Bell was my pick last year so I am very happy he didn't get "dramatically" cut.

I think top 4 will be Billy, the little blond girl who danced her solo to At Last, Sean or Shaun(sp?), and Wapikaneta.

It is America's favourite dancer so those have a shot.

My pick would still be Billy. I found Season 6 so boring, and I think Mia will make the "same judges" thing a little better.

I feel like the last few seasons of this show have been a bit.. slumpy. I actually think this will change this season. The contestants are all so talented. Loving Billy Bell (my fav from last season) and Kent Boyd! Lauren (At Last girl) is also pretty damn amazing.

Geez, and what was the point of the judges flying or driving out to their homes especially when some didn't even make it. Is it so we can see what type of car the judges drive or see exactly how they're enjoying their road trip?? I didn't like the phone calls either because that was just too impersonal. I think that was all completely unnecessary. They should have kept it like before by having the dancers all in one big room waiting one by one. At least they all got constructive criticism or compliments face to face. I agree too, there was just too much crying and drama. I feel like there was more fluff than clips of actual dancing. I thought Season 6 was pretty wacked and Season 7's new format just sucks.

However, no matter how much I'm complaining about the new changes, I will still watch it! HAHA! My top 2 favorites is Billy and Lauren!

fantastic piece (Billy and Alex) Mia now having lost both parents was in this. i loved it. I was never a huge fan of Ade. I guess many are busy. How I would have loved to see Sabra again. Perhaps winners couldn't be on.

I enjoyed all routines tonight.

I'm not sure what the point of the "all stars" is. I know they aren't competeing, but will they be eliminated if their partner of the week is? (will they be getting permanent partners?)

I love this show and am still looking forward to it.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

other than sonya who choreographed it, i don't think the other judges commented on the "freak" piece. they should have, but ran out of time i guess. i think my fave of the night. nice to see Neil.

Billy and the blonde are my top pics so far...and that was before last night.

I'm hating the new format. I like some of the dancers who came back, but I just dont get it. The only way I'll accept that it's fair is if they pick a new dance and "alum" who matches that genre.

The season is so lopsided. I do not get the point of any of these changes. They went to some of the contestants' homes, but not others. And some of the people who received visits made it, but not others. Of all the final solos, we only see Lauren's, which was PERFECTION, but everyone else was given brief clips as part of a slow-mo montage. Way to stack the deck in Lauren's favor just before the competition! Half the final audition episode was focused on Kent. They choose a top eleven (because Robert is a better dancer, but they know the audience loves Billy). And they bring back old dancers who are not competing instead of everyone having to learn to partner together at the same pace. Why? The show has been quite successful. There didn't seem to be much reason to tinker with it so much, especially when it seems to be tilting more in the direction of audience manipulation. This show always seemed to be a little more fair to me than most of the talent competitions, so this development really disappoints me.

I've always loved this show, but this year's changes are stupid, and the crying judges, annoying. My favorite moment so far, was seeing my old buddy Grover Dale the other night. Wish they featured him more than they did.

It is America's Favourite dancer and in some ways i think Billy is better. anyone who dances like that with not as many years training and who really is incredible deserves every accolade they get. I could not believe Sabra only danced 3-5 years. It is not all about those who are technicians like Alex either. I know what you are saying though.. that show bugged me and so did the one to show us what is ahead. I also didn't like Robert and actually forgot him until I saw him in that show where they chose. I found others that should have made it through vegas over him. As for Lauren it can work two way. I find that with the girls lately on this show. I love her, but we will see.

The Girl who won SYTYCD Canada was a second time auditionee and a shoe it. Perfection.

Also in all the SYTYCD's Sean Cheesman proved he could choreograph a tap routine and it was fab. I want more tap on these shows!

i think very few on these shows are just dancing in this type of arena for the first time. don't get me wrong, i know there are some who are literally small town phenoms getting a break but when i watched a "reality" show once about dancers by JLO and who was on it and the auditions they go on. well, Blake was on it and a few others you would recognize who were working pro dancers before going on SYTYCD.

Blake McGrath is an a$$hole. At least he was when younger. brilliant, but even as a young competative dancer he was a real piece of work. I still like him though.

sadly Melinda should go. i think they were unnecessarily hard on Adechique (sp?)
Adam made no sense talking to a few of them. especially assuming what Lauren was thinking and taking in. he looked like an ass saying that.

The first performance episode was interesting. At times I think this "All Star" format was great. For example, I fully believe Anya helped Kent achieve his best during their ballroom routine. However, at other times, I would stop watching the actual contestant and focus on the All Star. Best example is during Alex and Allison's routine. I did not eyes off of her the whole routine, she is flawless.

The judges were on some sort of drug during this episode. First of all, I did not believe Alex and Allison's contemporary was "the most amazing thing ever on the SYTYCD stage." Not even close. Adam Shankman is driving me insane. I think I'm going to start fast forwarding everything he says. I thought Lauren gave the best performance of the night by far, and he gives her that unneccessary, dragged out speech about her not taking corrections. All she was doing was saying thank you, if that doesn't show acknowledgement, I'm not sure what does?

My top 5 as of now, and I hope this will play true, are Lauren, Alex, Ashley, Kent, and Melinda. I think the Billy Bell madness will wear off, and the others do not have the star power the five I mentioned do. Hopefully the season picks up for me, and I don't go crazy listening to Adam :)

hey florida theatre kid...i agree with you wholey! well, Hallelujah was an amazing piece. But Mia said that on SYTYCD Canada last year and the number she spoke of (along with the first ever tap routine on a SYTYCD coreographed by Sean Cheesman) surpassed it IMO. My feeling on Sonya's breath taking coreography is that it was very similar to the hummingbird one done by Wade a few years ago and that song is so rivetting, if it was given to Billy, Kent or a couple of others the "piece" would have gotten a standing O. It just happened that Alex got to dance it.

also Adam did my head in. I totally agree. I mentioned it too. poor Lauren. also adechique did just fine. i really thought Melinda was going.

finally, Nigel admitted that they always make the elimination decisions early in the day and only if it is something very amaizing do they change their minds. I think they only ever changed their mind once in the whole run of the series.

^ i don't think it will be long Tom. I think what went against the girl who went home, was her age perhaps and her size? also, they love her and she will work. Is she the one who was on her fifth audition for the show?

Sabra was tiny like that I know, but there was something so electic about her and she had only danced for 3-5 years before the show.
