It's difficult to tell how they cast the show when we really don't get to see much of the auditions. Perhaps he was too technical with other genres or something. I would have put Anthony through over Adechike, who hasn't impressed me at all until this week. Both Billy and Adechike are technically strong, but rarely show anything other than the ability to master the steps. Lauren is having similar trouble, though to a lesser degree. I think the judges have been a little harsh on her.

I like Jose and I think he's adorable and fun to watch, but that over the top praise from the judges was ridiculous. Yes, he's sooo sweet..but this isn't a charm-off. It's a dance competition. They tell Robert to work on his jumps and they tell Jose "that was terrilble,WE LOVE YOU!"

I understand he's good at what he does, but why won't they give him any constructive criticism?

Jose reminds me so much of Kevin Federline when he was slim and danced for his ex wife. that's who i see when i look at his face.

I just watched Alex's routine from last night again on YouTube and to me he radiated pure joy throughout. Joy expressed through a routine like last night usually brings tears to my eyes (which it did).

I absolutely loved Ashley and Alex's routines!!!! The choreo for both were just stunning and brilliant!!!

Ashley: So true, it looked like she was carried by wind around on stage. This routine was just so unique in that respect. I was amazed by this dance!

Alex: Oh my gawd! I certainly did not expect that at all! I was even applauding at the end myself! Loved the build up in the song also. When you think it was over.. nope.. lets pick up the speed!

Best routines this week for sure!!!

I know Ashley! She's from my hometown! I was worried about her at first because she kept getting the same style over and over again but last night she completely blew me away. Hopefully now she'll get a chance to do a different style. She really can do them all quite well. But, of course, I am a little biased.

And I love Alex. Love. I loved his routine last night may it have been gimmicky or not.

Lauren is interesting to me. Haven't really been very impressed by her unless she's doing a solo. I feel that she turns off the whole "aaand look at the audience and smile!" act when she does her own stuff. But I still think she's awesome.

elphabelle07 - I totally agree with you 100% including Lauren as well!

One more thing.. actually two... that I forgot to mention earlier..

Cosmic Love by Florence + The Machine to me was the best song of the night. This of course was the song Ashley performed to. I just downloaded it!! Love SYTYCD or shall I say the choreographers for exposing me to some breathtaking music as well!

Cat Deeley.. uh.. sorry but she's actually getting on my nerves. I know she's there as positive support and all but I'm always finding her posing in the most ridiculous stances, can't stand what she says sometimes, and she always seems to be petting everyone's head!

I agree with both sides of this actually. She had been presenting on UK tv shows for years on talents shows. One was from late 80s/early 90s. She always had a calming way about her. She has changed I think. I think it is her "breaking America" that may have. I really enjoy Cat, but sometimes do get irritated. She is now sort of the face of SYTYCD

Me too! I'm always downloading my favorite songs from the season and I love being introduced to new music I may normally might never find. Cosmic Love was one of those songs and I got the entire Florence + The Machine CD and love it.

I am not surprised it all in the least with Lauren's performance, I saw this in the beginning with her. I don't know what forums Nigel is reading but I really never found Robert who he's defending arrogant.

It was very disrespectful. How ironic that Jose was doing his own thing during his Bollywood number, yet the judges praised him to no end!!

Thank you Cat. THANK YOU!! I am so over the Jose worship. This is what I was complaining about on here last week and I'm SO glad Cat called them out on it. Clearly the crowd felt the same way. Interesting that after that exchange all the judges actually had some criticism for Jose. It's about time.

What did I miss with the Jose stuff and Cat? what did she say? it was nice to see Billy complimented more, i love that kid.

also it may be understated and she tries to be supportive to all, but i think Cat has her faves too. Kent for a start.

Piper, the judges were very critical of Adechike's Bollywood number because he put his own spin on it. Cat at that point asked the judges point blank what made this any different than what Jose did (and that they praised). I love her!!

Is this the first time Spencer Liff has choreographed for SYTYCD? I don't remember seeing him before.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

thanks...that must have been after i got pissed when mia said she missed alex because i tuned out after that.

yes, good for Cat. they do look like fools though sometimes. being hypocritical when it suits. I think Mia just doesn't like Adechike full stop. Kind of like when she did not like Brandon.
