I was out last night so missed the Phelps gold victory.

Thank goodness NBCOlympics.com is so super-duper with their video coverage! Live-Streaming, Encores presentations, and Highlights. Plus lots of features and interviews!

I watched some of the Men's Gymnastics Prelims but had to leave after Raj did the rings (I like him! What a story to get there!)

To me, it's not about the speedos (I understand their need for a more sleek outfit). It's allll about those hot abs and arms and torsos.

YOU WANT SPEEDOS? Watch Water-Polo (Approx 1:30pm EST) It's incredible watching those men, pure strength, and stamina. I cannot believe how HIGH they are able to launch their bodies above the water-level! Such strong legs!

****SPOILER ALERT****

I just watched USA beat China in their first water-polo game (8-4). Tony Azeveda (USA) made 5 goals. Major props to all the USA players, specifically all the Stanford kids. With 2-minutes left on the clock, USA was just letting the clock run-down at 7-4. Then with 28-seconds left in the game, USA added one more point to the scoreboard... and then NBC cut away!!! Host told us they won (I guess we didn't need to see the last 28-seconds?)

****END SPOILER****

I woke-up this morning and watched the Rowing competitions (USA singles women didn't get into semi-finals). It's interesting sport to watch.

Now I'm watching the Women's Road Race (bicycling) but soooo scary to watch them on the SUPER WET AND RAINY streets! A Korean just fell and brought down some other bikers!

Just prior to the commercial break during the Women's Road Race, the host said something yuk-yuk-yuk funny:

"Something good perhaps about all this rain may be the particulate-matter in Beijing, might not particularly matter!"

Let's hope all the dampness will help break-up some of that disgusting smog!!!

Coming Up: MEN'S BEACH VOLLEYBALL (2:45pm EST)
IN THE RAIN!!! It really effects the sand (easier to jump) but makes the ball wet and HEAVY (less manipulatable) and difficult to look-up to make hits.

USA Gibb/Rosenthal VS NED Boersma/Ronnes Preliminary

It seems people saw Phelps win last night. I saw it before I went out for happy hour at 5:00. I am almost positive I did.

Eug, polo is on here right now.

Currently watchingWomen's 100M BackStroke: (3:30pm EST) for Advancing into the Semi-Finals

And you would not *believe* how many times these swimmers are breaking Olympic Records!!!

I was talking with my coworker yesterday --- how much FASTER can the human body get? These talented athletes break records EVERY year.... I mean, isn't there going to be a point in-time that these numbers CAN'T get any higher??? They're machines!!!

That's what I was thinking. Soon they are gonna attach some sort of jet propellers on them!

I also like the Coke commercials where they show athletes getting their medals through the years with Sia's Breathe me playing in the background.

Wow, lightning hit a robocam!

THESE SWIMMING HEATS ARE JUST INCREDIBLE! Now I know why they call them "heats" because they're burnin' me up! And completely scorching-up the previous records to line themselves up for those finals!

Among the US 400M FreeStyle Relay Prelim team are two phenomenal swimmers: Cullen Jones (the 2nd African-American to join the team, who is so adorable and teaches black kids how to swim) and Matt Grevers, with a massive chin and a 6'8" frame!

THE SWIMMING FINALS IN PRIMETIME ARE GONNA BE NUTS!!!

I don't wanna list any spoilers because tonight is just gonna be too fun to watch.

WOMEN'S GYMNASTICS tonight is also going to be dripping with anxiety. Basically a war (again!) between USA and CHN to see who can impress the most.... this "qualifying round" determines in which events the gymnasts can compete for medals.

****SPOILER****

Sunday August 10
Primetime
7:00p - 10:00p

Michael Phelps swims in the men's 200m free semifinal, where he is heavily favored, and in the men's 4x100m free relay final, for perhaps his second gold medal in as many days. The Americans have other medal contenders in the women's 400m free (Baltimore’s Katie Hoff) and men's 100m breast (world-record holder Brendan Hansen). Also, five-time Olympic medalist Natalie Coughlin swims in the semifinal of her best event, the 100m back (LIVE ET/CT). Plus, a first look at the U.S. women's Olympic gymnastics team, led by teens Shawn Johnson and Nastia Liukin, and the first diving gold medals of the Games (women's springboard synchro).

Just to manage expectations, keep in mind that tonight is ONLY qualifications. It determines which teams compete in the finals, which individuals compete in the all-around, and which compete in the individual events. However, it is important to remember that scores from tonight DO NOT carry over to any finals.

By th way, there is NO WAY ON EARTH that the little girl leading off for the Chinese is anywhere near the minimum age of 16. I doubt she's a day over 12.

I kind of wish there were specific cable channels for each event. There are certain competitions I would rather see in their entirety (i.e., men's and women's gymnastics) as opposed to bits and pieces from various events.

Been watching the Women's Gymnastics individual events....

Nerve-racking moments where China and USA Girls are head-to-head

And all I can say is.... there are plenty PLENTY of reasons you will GASP!!! outloud. Or shout.

Loved watching the gymnastics tonight, though I sure hope the USA can pull it together by Tuesday. I was unimpressed. Though Shawn Johnson rocked it out. She was definitely robbed on her beam score. Not sure what that was about.

In his interview with Costas, Bela Karolyi said that the Argentine judge scored Shawn Johnson's beam routine 8.8

WOW.

That was the most amazing finish I have EVER seen just now in the 400 Mens Freestyle relay.

Two roads diverged in a wood, and I? I took the one less traveled by, And that has made all the difference.
