All of my holiday weight is gone, plus plenty more. I must say, I too am looking ****ing fabulous. I am thinner than I was in high school. Yay! I still don't feel like I'm quite done yet though.
Though I am getting tired of every man I work with trying to get into my pants. That is getting old.

"Also, I've been doing The Biggest Loser Workout 2 and it's great."
Are you familiar with the Biggest Loser 1 workout, how is 2 different and do you have a preference?
I have the first DVD, and I enjoy it, and was thinking of getting the 2nd but if it's pretty similar then I'd rather save my money.

Very different.
1 has low endurance cardio and high endurance cardio & low endurance sculpting and high endurance sculpting plus the cool down and warm up. And if you do one of those 4, plus the cool down and warm up, you get about a 40 minute workout.
2 has the cool down and warm up, plus shorter workouts that allow you to really shape a workout each day. 10 minute functional flexibility. 15 co-ed cardio. 10 minute high end cardio for women and a separate one for men. A 15 min co-ed sculpting. A 10 min high endurance sculpting for women and a separate one for men. You can mix these for length and what you want to work on that day.
Plus, it has vids on eating, etc. I haven't watched them yet.
I like both. I'm apt to like the second right now as I have done the first one so much. But, I think mixing the 2 vids would make for variety and an excellent program.
And let me just say that I have never looked this good. I've never seen my obliques before!! lol The workouts are def working. We HAVE to remember that it takes months to transform the body. And we have to have faith. Building muscle does help burn fat. And, I bet my slow metabolism has sped up. 3 months ago I had gotten back to a flabby me--still at my recent weight, but I had replaced muscle weight with fat weight. Now, I've flipped them.
It's worth it. You gotta stick with it.

thank you, colleen. I really hope people realize that you CAN change. and that's one thing I think is so great about that tv show. I am so glad they put out these dvds.
there aren't that many dvds out there that are geared towards people who are a lil overweight and people who are a lot overweight. they constantly stress that if you aren't ready to do a certain movement, you should do a modification. if you need to stop a movement and come back in, that's ok. if u aren't ready to use handweights, don't. just keep moving. starting at whatever level and working your way up is the way to go. I couldn't do all the lunging at first. I would stop and start back. that's ok. I got better at it. (and my ass and legs got firm). I started with 3 pound hand weights and am now using 5 pound. soon, i'll move up to 8. it's a process.

I have plateaued . But I realize I haven't gained anything back, which is a positive. When I first started, I was 144. Now I'm steady at 128 for about a month.
Back on track today. My goal is to get to (or below) 120 by the end of Lent (we have both Lent AND Passover at my house, so for a few days there in April pretty much no one eats!).
Ran three miles and did weights this morning. Must keep up the exercise. I noticed my plateau started when I got a little bit lazy about exercising. Funny how that works!

I'm down to 155! But oh so sore today. I used a free training session at my gym yesterday to see how I'm doing and get some new weight ideas to get me out of a rut. And it was helpful -- but about twice as long as I'm used to doing in weight training in a day. Ouch!
On a related note -- why are there so many people intent on making you gain weight back? Why do people try to sabotage you and tell you you've lost too much? My BMI is 19.5 or so, still well above the "underweight" designation, so the cupcake-bearers need to back off!

I'm the heaviest I've ever been in my life. I quit smoking 8 months ago and really packed on the pounds. It frustrated me because I really didn't substitute food or anything. I actually ate healthier than ever. I tried the whole work out thing when I first quit, kept gaining weight, got frustrated and hid the eliptical. I would hope it would have leveled off by now, but I am still widening. grrrrrr
