Who's going to be watching tomorrow?
I'm going to watch, even though I know that I will probably be disappointed. I don't understand the 30 Rock love, and even though it's a good show, I would much rather see the award go to Modern Family or The Office. That also applies to Alec Baldwin as yeah he is great, but I'd like to see Steve Carell walk away with the award.
I'm just hoping that Glee doesn't sweep and completely overshadow Modern Family. It would be a shame if Chris Colfer beats Ty Burrell for Best Supporting Actor. The only thing that I feel Glee deserves hands down is Jane Lynch for Best Supporting Actress.
I'd also like to finally see some Dexter love. It had a great season and I hope that it gets recognized for that.
What are your thoughts?

Posted: 8/29/10 at 6:09amI'd be delighted to see 30 Rock walk away with Best Comedy, but last season wasn't its best season. Tina Fey, however, deserves the Emmy this year over the other nominees. I would happily give the award to Modern Family though. Anything would be better than Glee at this point though.

Jim Parsons is great. Actually the entire category for Best Supporting Actor is wonderful.
And I really think MF will take Best Comedy. I do like Glee a lot, but MF is just a much much much better show. Ahh! I can't wait to see the Red Carpet. I'm kicking myself for not getting a new bottle of wine today. Stupid Sunday liquor Blue Laws in CT....

The only thing that really excites me about Glee is Jane Lynch. She's basically a lock, and it's well deserved.
I usually always find myself most interested in the supporting actor category. It really doesn't seem that there is much of a front-runner for the comedy actors this year and that's great. I'd be happy with a NPH win, but Ty Burrell is incredible at what he does and so is Eric Stonestreet. I really really hope Chris Colfer doesn't beat either of those guys, and I hope it ultimately goes to Ty.
And dang, this makes eight nominates for Steve Carell and no wins (assuming that he loses to Alec Baldwin tonight.) And I want Michael C. Hall to finally be recognized!
As for Jimmy Fallon, I always hated him on Saturday Night Live but I find myself liking him much much more since he took over Late Night. It's shaping up to actually be a pretty good show I think.

Will they give the Emmy's to real talent, or just jump on the GLEE bandwagon?

I'm looking forward to a few of the contests on the Emmys tonight. Such as:
Beat Drama Series
Hmm... Will it be Mad Men, Breaking Bad, or Dexter? (I eliminate Lost, The Good Wife and True Blood only because I don't watch them so don't know them.)
I thought last season of Mad Men was a let down, and it jumped the shark, so I would eliminate that.
Dexter, with special guest John Lithgow (who already won his Emmy last week, yayayay!), and a storyline as good as it gets had a season finale that knocked everyone's socks off.
But Breaking Bad was also brilliant, with outstanding ensemble acting, gorgeous scenery, strong writing and direction.
If I had to vote I would give the (bloody razor's) edge to Breaking Bad.
Best Acting Drama
If Michael C. Hall wins for Dexter I'll be thrilled, but I think Bryan Cranston in Breaking Bad was just a cut above.
Best Actress Drama
I don't think Glenn Close deserves it for Damages this year, she looked like she was sleepwalking. But she's the favorite.
Best Supporting Actor Drama
What the heck is Martin Short doing here? Yeah, at first it looked like his character was going to be very interesting but as the season played on, he basically did nothing and had no epiphany or anything interesting to do. (I am sorry he lost his wife, that's sad.)
Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad, however, was amazing, especially his hospital scenes. Just wow stuff. Hope he wins it.
Best Supporting Actress Drama
Rose Byrne??? I just have nothing more to say about that...
I thought Christina Hendricks had some good character development in Mad Men even though the season was a bust in my mind, so I would give it to her.
Love, love, love Sharon Gless in Burn Notice though.
That's about all I am watching for. But I agree with the post above that it's about time The Office got shown a little Emmy love.

Honestly, I don't get why so many people on here hate Glee soooo much haha
Granted I'm certainly not expecting Glee to sweep the entire Emmys (nor do I necessarily think they'd be that deserving of a sweep), but I DO really, really want Chris Colfer to win. And Jane Lynch obviously too, but that's basically a given :P But yeah, my support is firmly behind Chris for supporting actor. I honestly, truly think he's the best actor with the widest range in an over all extremely talented group.
If not Chris, I'd be fine with Eric Stonestreet too- he is absolutely hysterical and awesome and I love him :) I find Ty Burell overrated personally- I mean he's alright, but compared to Chris and Eric? No thanks. I adore NPH, and any of the past 4 years I would have absolutely been rooting for him (and I did! haha), but this year.. I just feel like his time has passed. It was a less-than-stellar year for HIMYM, and I just think Chris or Eric deserve it more for THIS year. If NPH won, it would just be for years past when he didn't win, but that wouldn't be fair to the actors who deserve it for this year specifically.
I'd be good with either Glee OR Modern Family winning best comedy. Both are awesome shows. Modern Family is the better written of the two, but Glee is just my favorite, so.. :)
I haven't really been keeping up with many dramas lately, so I can't comment on that area so much

Posted: 8/29/10 at 7:22pmGlee's total "comedic" moments from the first season don't even trump Modern Family's weakest episode. It would be a complete contradiction to award it with Best Comedy. The same holds true for the nominations of Lea Michele, Matthew Morrison and Chris Colfer. But stranger things have happened

I've laughed harder during a fair number of Glee scenes than I even have during Modern Family, but that's just me :) Honestly though, MF is adorable and really well written so I wouldn't mind at all if they won
But I still think Chris completely deserves best supporting. His most memorable moments may be the more dramatic ones, but it's best supporting actor in a comedy series, not best comedic actor. And Chris is the best actor. Plus, he's got serious comedic chops too! It's not like he's a weak comedic actor at all- when he's given comedy to do, he does it fantastically :)
