I was pretty satisfied with the show this year, and I can honestly say I was entertained throughout. I loved the opening number. I thought it was cleverly done, and the actors they chose were great choices. Jorge Garcia, especially.
I'm not Fallon's biggest fan, but I thought he did a great job hosting.
I'm beyond thrilled that Jim Parsons won Best Actor in a Comedy. Nobody deserves it more.
I loved Edie Falco's "I'm not funny!" speech.
I'm also happy that Modern Family won Best Comedy Series. It's so well-written and funny; one of my new favorite shows.
I would have liked to see Lost win one last time, though season six wasn't its best. Mad Men deserved it, however.
Overall, it was a good show.

Bryan -- are you talking about Temple Grandin? She wasn't IN the movie (actually, I think she might have had a cameo) as an actress. It was ABOUT her. I'm sure the producers simply (and deservedly) HONORED her and her story by bringing her there.
Jimmy Fallon was AWFUL. A good 1/3 of the time, I couldn't even follow the actual WORDS he was uttering. I thought a number of the presenters were amusing though.
Overall? Eh. The results? Were fine, I wasn't really rooting for anyone spedifically.

As one of the apparently few fans of Breaking Bad on this board, I was thrilled to see Aaron Paul win and Bryan Cranston was fantastic, well deserved. For non-fans, if you can catch the first three seasons, it's a very good show, quite compelling, and quite funny at times for a drama.
I don't see how last season's Mad Men could top either Dexter or Breaking Bad though, not worthy in my opinion. Guess it's an academy favorite and that's that.
Good for Kyra Sedgwick.
Temple Grandin was a terrific movie, glad to see the real Temple there.
I thought Jimmy Fallon was okay. Not awful, not super funny, but decent. And yes, Ricky Gervais topped him with the Bucky Gunts comment

Thrilled Kyra won for The Closer (amazing show) and happy for Jane Lynch and MF
i wish the Middle and Sos of Anarchy would have got nominations as they really deserve it.
Oh thrilled for Parsons as well

Posted: 8/30/10 at 9:19amSome nice surprises (Stonestreet, Parsons) last night, and while I was pleased overall, I would have preferred Colbert over the Daily Show, and Hall over Cranston. Hope this gives Modern Family a boost in the ratings.

I was very disappointed that Julianna Margulies did not win Best Actress in Drama Series for THE GOOD WIFE. Her work has been outstanding on the show.
Archie Panjabi's comment "This is wonderful for my career." was not said out of any sort of hubris. She grew up in Mumbai, India and they have a completely different way of speaking. She even called her boyfriend her partner. She seemed truly grateful for the recognition. I was happy for her.

It's not that big a deal in the overall picture, but I have to admit I was disappointed in Neil Patrick Harris' comeback 'insult' to Fallon (which was played up by focusing on Fallon's reaction while everyone laughed.) Essentially, it boiled down to, "Oh, yeah? Well, you're gay!"
As I said, nothing to get all bent out of shape over I suppose, but I was still disappointed.

I thought Fallon did a good job - loved the opening, and I thought the song tributes to the three ending shows was well done.
I couldn't have been happier with the awards for comedy (though I would have liked to see Tina Fey win again in lead actress - she's the glue that holds that whole show together).
It's no secret I wanted Lost to win drama, but I was disappointed they just went Mad Men again. I haven't watched Dexter or Breaking Bad but I've heard both are excellent. I love True Blood, but I know the nom. was it's award. I've heard The Good Wife is great also. I tried watching season 3 of Mad Men after struggling through season 2 -- it was just....so.....slow.......
It was another show's turn to win this year.

I absolutely agree. She was robbed.
Happy about the wins for Modern Family, though.

Completely agree. Just terrible. The endless bits with him roaming the audience with a guitar were not the least bit funny.

I didnt mind much of the show, though I agree about that "joke" by NPH, Q.
I thought the worst part was the commentator who did the voiceover "bio" of the winners as they walked up. Those were AWFUL! Stupid and unfunny.
Fallon was fine, but he did rush and seemed very nervous. I dont think he's a very good mimic, so I didnt like his tribute to the recently departed shows. I didnt even recognize the second singer he was trying to parody. Anyone know?

The most tense moment was waiting for Temple Grandin to shake the boobies out of that producer's top.
