It has always bothered me that despite supposedly having a broken nose and having his head smashed into the ground, Zimmerman's shirt when he was shown entering the police station after the attack was amazingly blood free. Having had a broken nose once, I know how profusely one bleeds. Yes, the records show that the emt's cleaned up his face, they gave him a new tee shirt as well?

There are a lot of smaller inconsistencies and head scratchers with regard to Zimmerman's account. But unless you have "FACTS" from EXTREMIST BLOGS, like Mr. Mikey, you can't have an opinion. It seems.
If it were the other way around and we had to presume guilt before innocence, I would argue there is considerable reasonable doubt:
- The claim that he could not locate an address during a call (even though he mentions the name of the address in his police interview later that evening)
- The constantly changing position of Trayvon Martin. According to his best friend, Trayvon's legs wre up in his armpits. How could one move their arms or access a gun if legs were blocking it?
- Zimmerman's incredulous claims about Martin seeing the gun (how could he if it's pitch black and it was concealed?)
- Despite what Mikey screams, Zimmerman's changing story about the cry for help. Yes, he said in a second or third interview that he did NOT recognize the voice on the phone call.
I could go on but it's not worth it, anymore. Zimmerman walks but will never be free. He is in his own personal hell now. Cheers, Zimmy. Enjoy.

Missed your post somehow. Nope, I didn't have time to watch it but have it on good authority that a prominent FL civil rights advocate and PR exec are working with her on presentation skills on the low-low. One thing I've always loved about this great nation is that it's still possible for a person to rise above his or her station in life with hard work, dogged determination, humility, the occasional break, and a support system. I really wish Rachel all the best.

Bless her heart...baby gurl just isn't ready for prime time. Her handlers have their work cut out for them but I do believe in keeping hope alive. Thanks for sharing.

God forbid a teenager in high school whose friend was senselessly murdered be not prepared for "prime time".
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Am I the only one who thought Jeantel was fine on the stand? True, her decorum was not always what convention demands, but so what? She wasn't on trial.
The juror claiming she couldn't understand Jeantel amazed me! I'm not exactly immersed in contemporary urban youth culture, but I found the witness perfectly clear.
And all the talk about how "ignorant" Jeantel is really burns me. The young woman speaks 3 languages, for Christ's sake! IIRC English wasn't even spoken in her home when she was a child. When I speak Spanish or Haitian Creole as well as Jeantel speaks English, maybe I'll criticize her.

Honestly, I can't go down that line with you. What irks me most are the uber left-wing tv personalities who have set her up to be fodder for their counterparts at the other end of the spectrum like Rush Limbaugh. I personally believe that Rachel is now being exploited by both sides for political gain and the release of some internalized guilt. A juror has come forward post-trial and opined that Rachel felt unqualified in that setting to give her account of the telephone exchange with the Martin youth.
Worse still, the extreme right-wing fringe as well as a few selectively-outraged bleeding-heart liberals have painted her as all that is wrong with public education in the nation. I have encountered my share of Rachel's both within and without my family and community so I don't hesitate in writing that hers is a cautionary tale. Perhaps her family and inner circle are different from mine in that we (the members of my family) don't send our lambs to the slaughter for public amusement. And of course my views are shaped by my experience as a nearly 50-yr old trilingual black man born and raised in the USA.
