What is that ONE movie that you watched non-stop as a child? I'm not talking pre-teen/teenage years. I mean like ages 3-8.
For most kids my age it was some Disney movie. But for me it was the original BYE BYE BIRDIE film. I was obsessed. I would watch it religiously. I owned the laser-disc lol, and watched it all the time. I was infatuated with the opening scene with Ann-Margret, I think it's because she looked so stunning, and the title song is such a great song. Great memories.
What that movie for you, that as a kid you would watch ALL the time?
Annie Hall. I first watched it when I was five and became obsessed with Diane Keaton. Yeah, I was a weird kid.
Beauty and the Beast was my favorite movie. And it still is, I watch it at least once a week now. That and Wizard of Oz.
The Land Before Time. It Takes Two. Harriet the Spy. I used to want to BE Harriet. Sad, I know.

THE CHIMPMUNK ADVENTURE- Whenever I'd watch it and the Chimpettes would sing the Mama song to the peguin, I would cry and run to my mom and hug her.
I loved THE LITTLE MERMAID & BEAUTY AND THE BEAST. My first movie was BEAUTY & THE BEAST and when I went I got up and walked up the aisle and my grandma goes "Where are you going?" and I replied "Excuse me, I have to dance now."
GREASE....and ANNIE. There were a couple more, I am still an obsessive movie-watcher (I watch movies over and over and over again still now) but those were memorable ones.

No one probably remembers this movie, because it wasn't one of Disney's most popular ones, but THE FOX AND THE HOUND. I used to love that movie.
THe fox and the hound was one of my favorites! I also came to know The LAdy and the Tramp by heart (movie chokes me up everytime) I used to watched Chitty chitty bang bang all the time, love that movie. Dick VAn Dike (sp?) is a legend!
Land Before Time and Fievel Goes West.
Clumsy, I did the same thing as a child. That part STILL gets to me.

I was ages 3-8 from 1965-70, so we couldn't just 'pop-in' a movie whenever we wanted. As a matter of fact, I don't even remember watching TV during that time period.
Sound of Music
Little Mermaid

1-4, I watched The Little Mermaid EVERY day after school without fail.
4-8, I watched Annie obsessively. I told my pre-school teacher that I wanted to be an orphan, not realizing the connotations of saying that. My teachers promptly met iwth my parents and they said that I needed to see a shrink, which I did.

DG, that's exactly right. If you grew up before the 80s, there was no opportunity to watch anything "non-stop." You watched whatever was on TV. The rest of the time you played outside or you read a book.

When I was a kid, we didn't have VCR's but we had "Million Dollar Movie" on WOR-TV Channel 9 in NYC. They showed the same movie every single night and all day Saturday and Sunday. "King Kong" was on a lot as was "A Star is Born" (Judy Garland) and something called "The Big Circus" with Victor Mature in tights. Edit to add the recently departed Red Buttons as one of the stars of "The Big Circus".

Oh my!
Sweetums lay your ugly head,
down upon your wretched bed!
Close your eyes and go to sleep,
Rest, you hulking heap.
Sweetums is so sweet and cute,
Go to sleep, you stupid brute.
Wow, how do I remember that?
When i was very little, it was Care Bears in Wonderland and as I got slightly older it was all the Disney movies, especially Beauty & the Beast and The Lion King. Oh, and also this other animated movie The Swan princess. i loved that movie
The Little Mermaid and Singin' in the Rain. I knew at age four I was going to marry Gene Kelley. How, I do not know.
Mary Poppins. Every single day, sometimes multiple times a day. I also had the soundtrack for when my parents made me turn off the TV.
