Mel, can you please stop complaining? I swear I've never heard someone whine about everything so much. You probably could have just turned down the job if you hated it so much. In addition, I certainly never received $10/hour when I babysat for three children. I often had to stay up until 12 AM with them, and I played games and interacted with them.
I'm sorry, I realize this is hostile, but please. stop. I swore that I was going to pop a blood vessel when you complained about not being able to attend the OBC concert (trust me, you could have it worse -- you could be living in North Dakota, like me), but I tried to be generally nice. Seriously, be grateful that you've scored a job. You'll probably come out of the night $40 or so richer and you'll see, in retrospect, it was worth it.

Sarah, correction! In the Baby-sitters Club movie the girls were still only 13! Kristy had her 13th birthday during the movie. I'm not sure about the TV series, though.
ETA: Wow, rude... okay, going back to my movie, I think.

Allie, I meant that the actresses were like in their 20s.
I'm not complaining, but whatever if all of you hate me so much I won't post here anymore.

You're not complaining?
...

They were in their TWENTIES? oy.
...That's a bit melodramatic, don't you think? Or very. No one said anything remotely close to that, Mel. She pointed something out to you in a constructive way, and wouldn't you rather someone confront you with something that's been bothering them?
They definitely weren't 13.

Allie, I apologize if you feel I was rude, but I personally think it's a lot more rude to complain about a job that you've agreed to, especially considering most people get paid a lot less than that. Not to mention complaining on here all. the. time about God knows what.
I think I read one Babysitters' Club book and didn't like it that much. I didn't care for the Boxcar Children series, either. I'm weird!

I was never a fan of those book series either.
There's a new thread on the Rent IMDb board about going weak in the knees over Adam's eyelashes.
I love your IMDb updates Chloe. They just reinforce my not wanting to join the IMDb boards.

LOL, Chloe. Aww. They're pretty.
You are weird, Lexi! But I love you.
My project over winter break was going to be rediscovering some of the books that I loved in elementary school, but I only reread one (The Westing Game, which is brilliant). Maybe I'll try again over the summer.
Sarah, there's been far worse than that on this thread, believe me.
ETA: Well, not *this* thread - I'm thinking back to the first couple ones.

aww I love Adam's eyelashes lol..Thanks for the IMDB update Chloe.
Yes, I suppose your right. I believe I may also be a culprit of some of it :P
Well, he does have really pretty eyelashes.
Ooh, The Westing Game! I love that book, and I remember reading it over and over when I was younger and wishing I could be as utterly cool as Turtle Wexler.

I heart you too, Ash.
I really loved (and still love) Charlotte's Web. I swear that that book is at least subconsciously partially responsible for a good chunk of vegetarians out there. I also loved The Giver (which is probably more "young adult fiction").
Heh, I'll stop before we guide this thread down the book discussion path again!

Hah, Sarah. Read! It's good for you!
I'm pretty sure I discussed the merits of Raul and Adam's chest/stomach hair earlier today, so I can't exactly comment negatively on the eyelashes topic.
Whee!
Heh, we had to read "The Giver" for English in 7th grade. It was kind of weird, but I liked it. I remember having a big class discussion over how we interpreted the ending, and I was surprised at how many people took the pessimistic view of what happened.
Charlottes Web makes me SO SAD. I love the cartoon movie, too.

The book and cartoon movie always made me cry. Heh, I still remember the four words/phrases she spun into her web.
Jessica, we naturally had that discussion as well in class. Lowry (the author) is on record for saying that she interprets it as a happy ending, but she also feels that the reader should interpret it the way he or she wants to. I personally saw it as a happy one, but there's a strong case for both interpretations.
