I share your pain Ariella, I live in the midwest too and hardly anyone here has ever heard of Adam. I always have to explain my obsession and then I just get wierd looks.
It's only been a little over a year since I first heard about RENT. That was also the first time I had ever heard about Adam. It seems like much longer though.

Hah, that was me, Ariella. I'm sorry, but I cracked up at that "a rebel wave carried me here" line in one of the new songs. Totally inappropriate considering the serious nature of the song, but I laugh at stupid thoughts like that.
Ooh, seriously, Chloe? I'm sure the suburbs don't have the flavor of Chicago itself, but I visited Chicago once and absolutely loved the city. Chicago and Seattle are both cities that I would move to in one second if I weren't going to NYC already.
I don't live too far away from Chicago and I think it's a fun city. I would probably like to live there, but I'm not too much of a city person.
That reminds me, I was wondering if that first verse could refer to moving to LA. "There's so much sky" seemed like a possible indication. And someone please give me some ideas about the first line. I still don't have a clue.
The suburbs of Chicago are like suburbs everywhere, I suppose. I never got to know the city very well unfortunately.
Yeah, pretty much no one here knows who Adam is. If I'm talking to my friends about the movie, he's either the one with the hair, or the one with my guitar. Or if it's my dad, the gay guy with the lipstick. I have no idea where he got that from.
I was assume the gay guy with the lipstick would be Angel, but I guess not =P
Nobody really cares about Broadway around where I live Evenb though I'm like 1/1.5 hours away from the city. I think.

Lipstick, Sarah? Oh dear.
Chloe, I thought that verse just referred to his life situation in general -- as in, his current situation is probably so far removed from what he imagined he would be like at 35 a long time ago.
My town is like one big suburb with no big city next to it. 12 more days here (yeah, totally counting down).

hah. Lipstick?
Only two of my friends like Broadway as much as me..the rest could care less.
Yes, Angel is who would first come to mind...
Lexi, your idea is more poetic and probably more accurate.
No one here likes broadway. All of my friends got obsessed with the RENT movie though and they were all, "Oh My GoDz!! MaUrEeN iS iDiNa MeNtEzEl!!!! ThE oNe FrOm WiCkEd!!!!"

Did they speak in half capital letters, too?
I think he thought that Adam's lips were shiny, it was during SOL. He was quite shocked when I told him he was the only one married with children.
Anyhow, what actor lets their personal life come through in a movie with by still wearing their lipstick. It makes no sense to me.
Lexi- when they type me instant messages that's how they type them. It drives me nuts!
Whoever started that stupid way of typing should be shot. How did it become so popular?
It makes my eyes hurt. And it's actually hard to type that way. Could you imagine how long it would take them to write e-mails?
It took me about five minutes to type that one post because of the letters. It makes me crazy. That's not how you should type

Gah, I hate it when people type like that... a lot of my friends write like that, and it drives me insane.

Aww, hi! I had forgotten about that PM, but it's great to see you back anyway. How are you?
I'm so happy my meningitis shot is over. So lame of me, I know, but I was having a little meltdown in the doctor's office.
Nice to see you back, Eponine. Are you talking about seeing Rent in the '90's or Rent 10? I ask because he really did "have to jet" after Rent 10. Great if you saw the OBC back in the day though.
Lexi, I can deal with shots, but having blood taken gives me the willies. I have to turn my head and think of other things really hard. I know a grown man who has literally fainted when being given a shot, so it sounds like you did better than him.

The doctor recommended that I have the chickenpox shots (it's a series of two shots) and an updated tetanus shot, but it's SO not going to happen. I can barely deal with getting one; I kept waking up last night from dreaming about it.
My other computer is getting partially fixed; I hope what they're trying now works and I don't have to pay more than $50. I'm so broke. Seven more days of Starbucks and then I'm DONE with that job. I would suggest that no one ever work in food services.

Amen *applauds*
Nothing like attempting to pack up three months of lounging around the house to get back to school...I'm not doing so well.
Tonight I'm going out, which brought up an interesting conversation with some friends...what's your favorite "going out" drink?
I used to drink things like Bloody Marys or Black Russians, but lately a nice glass of white Zinfandel is my usual. I don't drink much at all really, though. I save it for special occasions.
I never noticed this before - Adam has double-jointed fingers, or at least one of them is.

I don't drink anything but wine, so I'm not really the person to ask about that.
I'm a bit disappointed that isn't the flowery guitar. It would have matched with one of the shirts.
I don't drink. I'm underage.
I also have double jointed fingers! Yay!
