Dottie, she did look beautiful, as did the gown. I wonder if her height had anything to do with not winning? No, who am I kidding. I think Miss Puerto Rico was gorgeous and had lots of poise (until she fainted). I was rooting for her to win.

i honestly thought Japan was gonna win just cause she was soo gorgeous but i was rooting for miss. usa all the way!

I thought Miss Japan was going to win too. Miss USA looked great in that dress. I thought she lost it on the interviews.
I had a feeling USA was not going to win. Originally I picked Trinidad/Tobego to go all the way. She was gorgeous. Once she was eliminated, I was rooting for Japan.
I also thought that both Mexico and Canada would have been in the top five.
Let's face it folks-Miss Universe is strictly a beauty pageant. The interviews have nothing to do with it. I liked Miss Japan too but she lacked a certain pizzazz. Miss Puerto Rico looked the most like Melania-you do the math!

I finally saw last week's episode, and watched (some of) the pageant just to see the evening gown competition. Yay Kayne! He totally deserved the win. Though the hair was a bit too Farrah (it could have been a bit sleeker to offset the busy-ness of the dress) she looked beautiful, and her gown was perfect for the occasion. My sister and I couldn't believe Miss Mexico didn't make it to the top five. She was gorgeous...like a younger, more exotic version of Morgan Brittany.
Back to Runway...
Kayne and Robert were great, as usual. Laura's dress was nice but Tara had stated that she didn't want white. Simplicity can be beautiful, but you have to stand out, too, and her gown just didn't have the oomph or special something the occasion called for. I generally appreciate Laura's taste level, though.
Vincent is a psycho. They've got to be keeping him on for the entertainment value. He's gonna go postal any second.
Angela was an idiot. She's about to pitch a design concept with (A) no ideas and (B) no sketches because she...doesn't draw? At seventeen I had a portfolio! F.I.T. would have laughed me out of the door otherwise...and out of the grueling three hour interview. What designer worth their salt can't sketch? Did she go to art or design school? To be fair, Vincent was a control freak who didn't let her do much of anything, but it doesn't negate her suck-ass pitch to Tara. She wanted a free ride, got burned when she wound up with Vince and barely made it through.
Wish she had gone home rather than Malan. His Mommie Dearest sob story got to me...what can I say? He executed his idea poorly but at least he tried and was able to work well with a teammate, unlike Angela or Vincent.
The thing I'm wondering is this-maybe the reason Vincent didn't let her do anything was that she made it clear she hated the dress. I know that when the show aired, it appeared that she didn't say she hated it until it was completed, but you know they edit in order to present the show that they wish. who knows, but I'm glad she's gone and he's still there for entertainment value.

Jane, she's not gone, though. Malan is.
oy vey, I keep forgetting that, thanks! Now, speaking of Malan, as obnoxious as he may have seemed in the beginning, I thought he accepted his defeat with grace. I started feeling sorry for him because he looked so disappointed.

I agree. Malan was a little sleazy, but he wasn't malicious.
It's Runway, so of course I'm into it. I love this show. Robert Best is great. And there are the requisite drama queens and nutcases. But I'm not enthralled like I was during season two.
I really, REALLY miss the boys of 4D, dammit! *sighs and pines for Andre, Nick, Daniel V., Santino and Emmet*
Where is the magic? Where the hell is my chiffon?!
I was so sad when Malan was cut. I usually watch the millionreruns on Bravo, but I haven't been able to do it!!!! Now, I think Robert is my fav....

Robert is great.
i think Miss Paraguay actually was a dead ringer for Melania Trump. and am i buggin', or did she sport only one enormous bejewelled banana leaf earring?
Miss Puerto Rico was incredible looking but her chain mail dress said "Porn-Star" to me. Her gown for the pre-lims was also pretty garish. Did you sense a little "Gotcha!" from Miss PR when USA got the "What is your biggest flaw?" question. yes, tell us how you don't measure up. Oh, strategy SNAP!
i really think Miss USA was not so impressive -- lake tahoe is the most interestingplace you've ever been? oich. i loved Miss Japan but her dull dress was not helping her at all.

I adored Uli's dress, so I'm glad she won. But I'm gonna bust a cap if Angela makes it through these challenges much longer. Katherine's dress was kind of boring and the hemline was wacky, but it was, at the very least, wearable and used beautiful colors. Angela's outfit would only be appropriate on Debbie Gibson Whore Island.
Funny - Deborah fka Debbie Gibson was just hosting a show on VH1 - America's top 100 Child Stars.
OH MY GOD! Angela is like herpes. You think she's gone, but she just keeeeeeeps coming back at you!
What's with her and those over-the-top-teenage poofy skirts? yech, I hope she's only on there for entertainment value.

Ooh, Blair! Good find. I had to look...I love spoilers. And is it wrong that I had to check out the link to the naked pics of Michael Vartan on the page?
Fun challenge tonight! I thought the "accessory" was going to be iPods, and that they were going to head down to the Apple store. The dogs were adorable.
Michael (aka Coffee Filter Boy) hasn't won a challenge, but I have a feeling he's going to go pretty far. Daniel Vosovic stayed under the radar for the earlier part of last season and all of a sudden his designs took off. I loved his outfit.
Laura's was well-made but predictable. Robert's was really, really nice but I was a little disappointed...it's like he took all of his inspiration from the dog's name. Her name is Chanel, therefore I'll mock up a Chanel-inspired skirt and top draped with the requisite chunky jewelry. It was a great look but it wasn't HIS.
Loved Kayne's! But it was a little too reminscent of Nick's Barbie dress from last season.
Keith is such a dick. What is he compromising his craft or something to whip up a little something for the dog? He's so above it? What sucks is that his dress WAS gorgeous...that collar was out of this world. I loved the asian print. How cute would it have been if he did a tiny kimono for the dog?
I guess Angela raided Betsey Johnson's showroom from 1986. Kick her off already. She can't sketch, she can't design and she deserved to get the boot over the girl they sent home.
Yay Uli! I loved both of her outfits. It was a close race between Uli and the blonde girl, who also turned out a really impressive design this week.

Wow... thats all I'm gunna say on the spoiler.
On tonight... I'm getting sick of Angela squeaking through.

And Angela has the brass to compare herself to Yves St. Laurent. Pfft.
Laura's comment to Kayne in Mood was a bit snarky. I don't think she's going to make it to the top 3. Her designs are probably good enough to keep her safe for a while, but her vision may be too one-note.
Don't know the name of the gal who said she designed for one of the Williams sisters. She's starting to annoy me.
I thought Laura was just playing with Kayne.
There were a lot of beautiful outfits last night, but I, for the life of me, can't figure out how Angela got on this show in the first place. I loved Uli's dress, but I really thought Alison would have won, especially since the judges commented on how put together the entire ensemble was (including the model's hair). I just saw the look of disappoint on her face when she wasn't announced as the winner of this week's challenge.
I really like how well spoken Ivanka Trump has become. I remember an earlier effort of hers hosting the Miss Teen USA pageant, and not liking her at all. Has anyone noticed that Nina has become a little more supportive of the designers this year.
