I love Ivanka Trump. Gorgeous and smart!
The highlight for me in last night's show was the dog wearing Laura's outfit. Just adorable-stole the scene!

I had that exact same conversation with my boyfriend last night. Santino, you could TELL, was behaving that way partly in jest, and partly out of a very deep-seated self-esteem/image/insecurity problem.
Keith is just a raging, uncontrollable inferno of f*cktardedness.

Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you.
Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.

Absolutely. And I couldn't help loving Santino despite his moments of assiness. He had genuine vision and turned out some beautiful pieces (okay, there were some clunkers *cough! liederhosen!* too) and the Tim Gunn/Andre Red Lobster thing was the best TV evah! And I loved when he sang.

Agreed about Keith...and Santino. That is what I mean about this year's "characters" not being as good. Noone as cute as Nicky, no good villian like Santino.
Jaily, I will now call everyone that crosses me a f**ktard...thank you!

You're welcome
I agree...the "bad" characters this season aren't INTERESTINGLY bad, they're just horrible people, and the "good" characters are TOO good. I mean, we never even hear Michael SPEAK...the whole cast (with exception, perhaps, of Miss Kayne and Lady Bobby) are just BORING people who like to make pretty clothes.

Yeah...that bravura of Michael's that they kept showing in the promos has NOT surfaced. I would've pegged him to be the egomaniac, instead of the driftwood he is panning out to be.
I dont make coffee the same anymore, however.

I noticed that too, that there are certain designers the completely ignore (i.e., Michael, Robert (in last nights episode, etc.). I happened to like the outfit that Michael designed last night.

It's nice that the homeless looking guy (Bradley?) pulled through and didn't have to go home on his birthday, but I didn't think he was top three material. Better than what Kayne ('tho I did think of Nick's Barbie dress...it really was amazing) or Michael did?

the shape and colors in bradley's outfit are reminiscent of the work of Cristóbal Balenciaga -- the late master of 50's & 60's haute couture who is experiencing a renaissance just now. his work was architectural and comprised of unusual shapes. i remember studying his funnel dresses in a design class. it does not surprise me that nina wanted to feature the outfit in a magazine that's aesthetic is based in mix n match separates, the bread and butter of working woman's fashion.
i really loved kayne's over the top outfit. the croc print "leather" coat was FAB. i loved robert's top with the cascading tie. that is not easy to do. a wonderful combo of contrasting textures and shapes in that outfit. keith is an asshat.
i can't wait for kors to come back.
why have we seen nothing of the very obviously talented michael?

Michael is one of my faves design wise...he just hasnt lived up to his hype. Keith, however, has worn out his welcome in my book. You KNOW Heidi wanted him out last night for not bothering with the dog outfit.

I wish Bravo would be more consistent in applying the rules. In my book Keith did not complete the project; therefore he should have been eliminated, no matter how gorgeous the model's dress was.
Remember in Top Chef, when David absentmindedly forgot to prepare a certain dish, yet the people eating his food, preferred his over Tiffany's. Yet, David was eliminated because in the judges eyes, he didn't complete the task at hand.

Yeah. The producers totally have an influence in the judging decisions.
P.S. Dottie, when is Top Chef coming back? I loved Harold, Dave and Leanne in Season 1!

Blueroses, I haven't heard anything about a second season of Top Chef. I'm not sure how their numbers were in comparison to Project Runway. If they do come back, for goodness sake, get rid of the arse that is Tom Colicchio!

continuing a bit of a threadjack, while watching Hell's Kitchen this week, me and the hubby decided it is nowhere near as good as Bravo. They know how to do reality.

I have heard that yes, there will be.
There had goddamn BETTER be. I do NOT want to have to go put a dough hook up someone's ass.

So I watched episode 3 last night and I can't believe Keith had the nerve to say something along the lines of, "I didn't win, that makes no sense." Bozo, did you not hear what Heidi told you? She said, you could have won the challenge but you neglected to design an outfit for the dog. I still think he should have been eliminated.
OK, so now I watched the episode for a 3rd time...regarding what Laura said to Kayne, was, "my fabric is more tasteful than yours..." It was definitely said in a teasing kind of way. Kayne responded in his on-camera interview that Laura's was vanilla, whereas his fabric was rocky road.

Keith, for plagiarizing his audition portfolio.
Or...that could have all been a crazy red herring, and it will be something SHOCKINGLY crazy, like Laura or something...
I am counting down the seconds.
