Did you draw that? That's so cute. (and I think a better caricature than the one at Sardi's!)
yeah I did a couple weeks ago. After I saw that hideous sardi's pic. I tried to see what I could come up with. If you notice on the tie, it's the silhoutte of a woman.
That's such a cute picture! Great work! (It's definitely more fun than the Sardi's caricature.)

I love how Being Alive came onto my ipod just as I was opening up this thread..
Anyway for those that are going tonight have a great time and cheer extra loud for Raul for me.
It's going to be interesting: people always give really great receptions for the winners, but in the case of a major upset, I think it'll be just as supportive. If people would pick up, I'd stand for him on entrance. I'm sure he'll get a lot of love, though.
I was actually thinking of standing up when he entered, but I wouldn't be able to make myself do it alone. I'm too much of a scaredy cat for that, which is unfortunate.
If you do it Emcee, I'll definitely follow suit.
Aw, you should stand up. It would be a great show of support. I'll figuratively stand up with you.
He always gets entrance applause, so maybe that necessitates something a little more drastic. :)
He got a lot of entrance applause when I saw the show, and the people next to us were like, "What the hell? He hasn't even done anything yet."
Aww that would be really sweet if people stood up when he made his entrance. :o) I really wish I lived in NYC, I would definitely see Company and show Raul some love and support.

I dont think he got entrance applause when I saw it, but I probably just dont remember because I was too busy grinning like an idiot at seeing him live, lol.
I was one of the only ppl in my section who gave him a standing ovation at the curtain call - I was so surprised. I'm like come on people, you stand for every other person on Broadway, this is RAUL! hehe
I'm all for standing on his entrance
okay, you all have just totally inspired me to come and join the raul love fest tonight!
It's taken me this long to begin to recover from the awful feeling I had when he didn't win.
You know, he has a huge career ahead of him and he's going to win at least a couple of Tonys or Oscars in the years ahead. The buzz about what happened to him this year will actually only help him, even the mean spirited stuff from the ones who harp about the vibrato. There will be a lot more interest in what he chooses to do next. I would like to think he has good management (Flack) and good agents (Wm Morris), so good stuff is going to come to him and he can be choosy.
I would hate to think that Company, as glorious and meaningful as it is, with all the box office issues it has had, would become a high point of Raul's career. He's better than that and deserves a vehicle with more than a 50% house. I think he's going to find himself one because he's going to be sent more scripts now.
Enjoy him in the show this week. I wish I could be there too, but my next chance to be in NYC won't be until another month or so.
I'm guilty of giving entrance claps
I can't believe the show posted their closing 2 days after the Tonys... I was really hoping that the revival award would have helped them stay open a little longer.
For those of you going tonight -- Cheer your hearts out!
I am so depressed that it's closing... I really want to see it one more time, I dunno if I can make it to the city before it closes though, uggggggh
What another slap in the face.
These past two days have been so disappointing and sad.
Are you kidding me?! I really, really wanted to see Raul in Company. When do the performers find out - ahead of time?
I believe the cast finds out on the day the producers post the closing notice. So they likely found out this afternoon. (Although, it is possible that they were told yesterday.)
I want to find Raul and give him a hug. Do you think if he won the Tony that perhaps the grosse would have increased?
No - if the production itself winning didn't move the box office, saying "winner of 2 Tonys" wouldn't have made much difference.
What a sucky week this has been...........
Just when I was starting to recover from Sunday night they do this! Just bought a ticket for tomorrow's matinee - I was planning on going to LoveMusik but I have to see Company instead. I thought it would at least last through the end of July.
