That gutted, empty, emotionally spent, heartbreaking feeling is very cathartic, but it's also, to me, what art is meant to do.
I think not only is it rare for me, for whatever reason, to deeply connect with film, but it's also rare for film to be that moving and beautiful, too. I've never seen characters on screen that feel *that* real.
The only time I saw it was on an awards DVD and, "For Your Consideration" would run across the screen every so often. That got old fast. But yeah, I loved it.

I have never really found the right words to describe the movie. It's kind of frustrating to want to say something, and have no idea how to give it verbal justice.

Middle of page 2...not acceptable.
I was in Central Park yesterdy with a friend and we watched what I like to call the Fairy Violin Man. If you live in the city and/or frequent the park, you probably know who I'm talking about. He (yes, he) is this crazy SOPRANO tenor and this really crazy violin player too. He plays ambidexterously. This thread seems sleepy today, so yea. Violins are rad.

hey!
That violin guy sounds...interesting.
I have a new appreciation for violinists lately.

Ohhh! *Runs off to read*!
chica, i loved your post on the changes. it was so detailed and gave so much insight on different interpretations that anyone can have on this one show. i can't wait to see the show again!!!
Amazing post, Chica. I'm probably going again next week and taking my brother again. It's so funny stagedooring with him, because he's so young, and the actors are always like "Awwwww, did you like it" and he says "Well, I've seen it before..." And the actors are like "Ohhhhhhhh" Such priceless moments.
Chica, lovely post, you amaze me. I need to see this show.
PLAN:
Someone kidnap me and take me to Sweeney...then kindly return me to my house unharmed. kthxbye.
Chica, you're the bestest (word I refrained from using on the main board for fear of looking like a 10 year old). You do know that, right?

I don't think Sweeney's a show that talking about at length would look like babbling unless you tried REALLY hard. There's just so much to talk about!
I agree 110%
You most definitely didn't babble. To tell you the truth, I was surprised no one came to the thread and wanted to know *why* Mano told you all that stuff.
That post was very insightful. Now I need to see Sweeney so I know what the hell you're talking about, heh.
I've been waiting for a detailed post about the changes, thanks.

Oh, I know. It's awesome that you shared your "insight". I was just really surprised no one (in either a rude or completely normal way) was curious about why he would choose to tell you that. Being that it's A LOT of info.
