anybody else watching this show? oh man I'm loving it... I went to their presentation at Comic-Con and got really excited for it and have been waiting patiently all summer! it's awesome... I need to start reading the graphic novels
Loved it! I hadn't planned on watching it -- I hadn't even heard about it, but I saw the preview tonight during fear fest and decided to watch. I'm definitely hooked. The whole thing with his wife and partner is pretty fu*ked up, though.
I thought it was great. I knew I was going to like it being the zombie nerd I am but wow. From the first moments of the show I was definitely drawn in, which I was not expecting to occur that quickly. The makeup artist(s) really need a pat on the back cuz those are ghastly-looking zombies.
FANTASTIC! One of the best TV pilots I've seen in a very long time. I was completely riveted for the whole hour and a half. Can't wait for next week's episode!
I love the books, but I was disappointed with this start. It felt slow and ultimately had little to recommend in character development in dialogue. I hold out hope for the coming weeks that the show will improve as it becomes more of an ensemble piece.
Not bad, just did not live up to the high quality of AMC's programming. The cinematography and effects were beautiful, it's true, I just felt it had pacing issues and could have done with a bit more drama.
I felt completely the opposite. One of the things I loved about it was the pacing. I thought it set a perfect sense of dread.
I thought the pacing was fine. To me it purposely knew when to put their foot on the peddle with most of the stuff. Would have been too ham-fisted to put more dramatic elements in the first episode. The visuals and music put me on edge in certain instances, so the level of drama and tension in the premiere was fine with me. I even felt sympathetic for that half-body zombie.
We know Rick's deal in a very straight-forward way and I like we just get a glimpse of most of the characters which can be dealt with later, though there is just six episodes for this season. I actually think in the case of Shane he is very much established as a character in this episode and it happens pretty quickly with his talk with Rick.

the scene with Rick going back to kill the zombie and Morgan unable to kill his wife was a great scene to watch... the inter cutting back and forth between the two scenes was just wonderfully shot and edited and acted
and so happy the ratings last night were phenomenal!

I thought this thread was about Susan Lucci.
just kidding.
I watched it today. I had no idea what it was about, but everyone seemed to be talking about it. Loved it.
Stockard thats the funniest thing I've read all day. LOL
I finally watched it, today. I was completely surprised by its touching tone, and I really like it. Not sure how they can possibly maintain this, unless they do a Fugitive-type show, when he moves on and meets-up with new people/zombies, each week. I'm certainly giving it a healthy try. I also hope Rubicon is renewed, as that was my favorite show.

Stockard - you are not the only one! For a moment there I thought zombies had been introduced into "All My Children".
I was kinda hoping to see a zombie Erica Kane as well :)
I had never watched it yet but i m surprising that is this show gonna attract horror fans or not.. i m not sure about the zombie theme. After Breaking Bad this show gonna be another great production of AMC.
I couldn't stay up till 11:30 Halloween, so I finally caught the rerun this Friday.
I loved the first episode. I think the genre will benefit from having a seires and not having to cram everything into 90 to 120 minutes.
I agree with those above who thought the pacing was perfect, and let's be clear, they delivered with an amzing last 20 minutes and a great cliffhanger to bring us back for the next episode!
We're a week behind you guys here in the UK, but I LOVED the first episode! Best goddamned creepy hospital I've seen in years, and the pacing was fantastic, and you get a real sense of threat from the fabulously eerie zombies. Roll on the next episode!
Weez, we've only had one too! Halloween was the first and tonite is the second episode.
Urban, the way All My Children is being written lately, I wouldn't be surprised if they resorted to zombies!
Yeah, but we don't get episode 2 until Friday. So maybe not a full week, but the amount my family is clamouring for it, it sure feels like it!
Second episode was solid. Not as good as the pilot, but that is a tough act to follow. Love the casting of Glen. Is there ever going to be a time the audience can like Shane? Only two episodes in and that is getting complicated. Michael Rooker playing a creep- that's almost cheating. I know people were freaking out over the 'meat dressing' they tried to pull off but it didn't bother me.
'We need more guts.'
The "meat dressing" really grossed me out. And that zombie eating the rat in the sewer. Thought the second episode was great though. Looking forward to next week!

yeah the rat scene and the chopping the guy apart scene was pretty graphic... i loved it! and really excited that it got picked up for season 2!! awesome! i'm just wondering how long we have to wait since season 1 is only 6 episodes and there are four more left

Just watched the first episode on Hulu. Wonderfully directed! Loved the "Holy Sh*t!" moments at the end! Had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Well done! Hope they can keep it up. I am afraid though it will be difficult.
