The election results thread#1

To try and prevent 15,000 threads discussing the various results of every state, perhaps some consolidation can occur.
Here in MN, the Democratic Senate candidate raped the Repub candidate pretty severely.
And it looks like the first Muslim congressperson has finally been elected, by the people of Minnesota, no less.
Our Gubenatorial race is still up for grabs, I am desperately praying our Republican incumbent gets kicked out on his rear.

Well right now I am only seeing a few threads and they're generally pretty high profile races, so I am holding out hope that this thing can serve some purpose.

Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:23pmOur news is just plain slow, but it looks like our marriage referendum is not doing well.
re: The election results thread#9
Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:27pmI like your idea for the thread, but using the word "raped" in describing the victory of one candidate over another is pretty iffy.

Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:30pmSince the primary definition of rape is to "seize and take away by force", I am not terribly concerned as to the word choice.

Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:46pmDid anyone else see a huge upswing in the number of female candidates running this year? In Minnesota it was substantial, I'd say almost half of the candidates running in the state this year were female.

Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:54pmWell once again we here in Massachusetts have sent an entire delegation of Democrats to Washington. We have elected a Democratic govonor (the first in 16 years) and Kennedy is heading back for another 6 years.

Posted: 11/7/06 at 10:55pmThe incumbent mayor that I posted about in another thread just gave his concession speech on camera. He was on a cell phone with the winner offering his "help" in "continuing his vision". The dick. I'm reasonably certain I heard him address him as "Jerry" as well. (The winner's name is Jim.)
