It's hard to pick just one.
Judy Garland "Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas"
Bing Crosby/David Bowie "Little Drummer Boy Duet"
Stevie Nicks "Silent Night"
Pointer Sisters "Santa Claus is Coming to Town"
Eartha Kitt "Santa Baby"
Del Rubio Triplets "C-H-R-I-S-T-M-A-S"
It's impossible to pick just one.

As much as I love "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" I don't think it's possible to make a case that any song other than "White Christmas" can be called the "Greatest Christmas Song Ever."
The rest are mere flotsam and jetsam. White Christmas has been the most Christmas song for 70 years.
Oh, there are so many!
But when our radio station starts to play Christmas songs, I can't help but to turn up the radio when Big Bad Voodoo Daddy's "Mr. Heatmeiser" comes on.
Oh yeah, and I can't forget about Clay Aiken's Christmas Cd. One of my favorites. I just love listening to all of the songs. I think that's the only Christmas Cd that I could listen to year round.

Dude, it's gotta be a tie between "Christmas Shoes," the barking dogs "Jingle Bells" and that Sinatra family version of "The Twelve Days of Christmas" where the kids buy dad jelly, Scrabble games and a most lovely lavender tie.
Anything sung by Karen Carpenter.
I agree with the Bing Crosby/David Bowie "Little Drummer Boy/Peace On Earth."
I also love this one song we sang in my chorus class last year that began:
"The first day after Christmas
My true love and I had a fight
And so I chopped the pear tree down
And burned it just for spite!
And with a single cartridge
I shot that blasted cartridge
My true love, my true love, my true love gave to me."

Calvin, I think if it's dogs barking Jingle Bells vs The Christmas Shoes, it's not even a contest. The dogs win every time.
The Pogues "Fairytale of New York". Best Xmas song, hands down

"The Pogues "Fairytale of New York".
Nothing says Christmas quite like lyrics that go:
You scumbag, you maggot
You cheap lousy faggot
Happy christmas your arse
I pray God its our last

"Christmas Wrapping" by The Waitresses is my personal #1 favorite and the season hasn't begun until I've heard it.
Aside from the classics, the ones that I like the most is "A Cradle in Bethlehem" and "The Christmas Song" by Nat King Cole. I really don't get into the holiday mood until I hear that song. And it was my mother's favorite. We used to finish trimming the tree, turn off all of the lights except the tree and play that song. Actually we would play his whole album.

Oh, I love Fairytale of New York.
If you check out the video you can see a young, very handsome Matt Dillon.

And a very vibrant Kirsty MacColl, may she rest in peace.

"The Bells of Christmas", Julie Andrews
I'm old fashioned-my favorite is Angels we have heard on high.
Grandma Got Run Over By a Reindeer!
Kidding.
I love Josh Groban's version of O Holy Night.
"Do You Hear What I Hear?" as sung by Bing Crosby

Nobody has mentioned Carol Brady's "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" that she sang after a night of being tortured with laryngitis while Cindy feverishly prayed to Santa Claus.
Which years later (and about six keys lower) saved the life of Mike after a building collapsed on him.

Cindy never "feverishly prayed to Santa Clause," Goth, although that's a very illuminating false memory you've created for yourself.
Cindy asked the department store Santa to restore Carol's voice, Santa promised he would because she was so gosh-darn cute, and Cindy felt very assured that all would turn out well. Which it did.

I knew you would fixth my mommy's voith! Thank you, Thanta!
I was just about to say "Adeste Fideles", based solely on how old the song is, but now that you mention "The Brady Bunch", well that clinches it!

In my mind, it has to be Judy's "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas," although my most-played Christmas ALBUM (and one of my year-round most-played albums) has to be the Vince Guaraldi Trio's soundtrack to A Charlie Brown Christmas. Just plain brilliant.
Contemporarily speaking, Sufjan Stevens's Christmas albums have some original songs on them that absolutely stand up to the classics.
