Oh how far we've come...
Katelynn - The first transgender cast member of "The Real World"
J.D. - The gay dolphin trainer and Anderson Cooper's ex
Scott - Winner of Best Abs on the East Coast
(and they are mighty impressive.)
Chet - The mormon virgin whom is convinced he is straight...
Devyn - The former Miss America Teen
Ryan - The Army soldier recently returned from Iraq
Sarah - The longtime lesbian that recently has fallen in love with a man she calls "the one"
Baya - The aspiring hip hop dancer from Salt Lake City.
What?
Are those all the same person?
Who's Anderson Coop?

Sorry, the subject line got cut off. I edited it.

I think the after show was actually more interesting than the episode. Katelynn shares a little of the video diary she took while in Thailand for her sex reassignment surgery.

I just posted my thoughts on my blog:

Even more political correctness comes to The Real World. The transgender is a freak. You are what you are; you don't have surgery to change your sex. Ridiculous.
Okay Grandma.
Shut it, you bitter dried out hag.
Keep your hateful comments to yourself, and don't bother PMing me and calling me a faggot either. I'll just post it again, with all of your other nasty, negative comments.
I guess first off, I must have missed something. How do we know JD is Cooper's ex? Is this the guy Cooper dedicated a book to?
I don't know how long I will watch it. I always start and then get bored. I even stopped watching the one done here in Denver. But this group looks interesting so I may end up watching it or at least watching it a bit longer. I just hope the after show doesn't give too much away. Judging by Kaitlynn's body language on the after show, she isn't crazy about Ryan. And I thought Ryan was going to have the bad temper but in the previews, JD did a number on that glass table!

If I may say...OH SNAP!!! Diva just laid thee with a Smacketh Downeth!!
"You are what you are; you don't have surgery to change your sex."
Huh? Fflagg, Have you never heard of the LGBTQ community? Let's break it down shall we?
L- Lesbian
G- Gay
B- Bisexual
T- Transgender!!!!!!!
Q- Queer or Questioning (Everyone I know down here, the South that is, says Queer for those who don't particularly like other labels. They just use Queer as an umbrella term, or so I'm told. But I'm assuming questioning is as good as any 'cause that's totally relevant as well.)
So if an entire community recognizes the fact that some people were born differently than they actually feel, how is it that you don't see it as well? I feel as though Pandora's Box 'o' Gay has been opened and this can only end with a bloody rumble. I call the Louisville Slugger with the leather grip!!!!
Isn't the Q for Questioning?
I haven't watched The Real World in ages. I used to be pretty into it back in the day, back when before MTV and society became obsessed with rich people. I thought New Orleans was the best season.
I didn't watch it tonight, but I'm DVRing a rerun. I'm curious about the lesbian.
People still watch this show? Between The Hills, The City, and fake bi girl/twin dating shows, MTV is pretty awful these days. I'll watch VH1 over MTV anyday.
I can't remember the last time I actually wanted to watch The Real World. Cheers to the Brooklyn cast for changing that. Although, it's in stiff competition with Top Chef on Bravo.

Bravo and MTV are notorious for replaying things ad infinitum, so you could watch both.
killertofu333, you forgot the "I". I think it's LGBTQI now. I for intersexual.

Yes, I know.
that's what I did this evening. (:

Thanks for the heads up CATS, I'll keep that one in mind as well. Things keep getting added before I even find out about it.
I think a 'U' can be in there too for unsure
P: polyamorous/ pansexual
O: Omnisexual
There's probably more I just can't seem to keep up with the ever expanding world of "non-heterosexuals."
I don't normally watch MTV. I may catch an episode of Made if I happen by it. VH1 has gotten worse. I don't watch it anymore. I used to like The Best Week Ever but they changed the format and it is awful now. The only time I turn it on is if I am up really late and they start showing videos. But that's not often.

Anderson has excellent taste.
I think that Chet looks a little Flock of Seagull-esque.

I caught the last half of the show and not knowing anything about any of them, my first thought was "So ALL the guys are gay?"
LMAO!

I watched it last night. It was good and different from the other seasons in that there weren't any make-out sessions or whorish behavior on the first episode. I think as time pass, the drama that MTV shows are known for will escalate.
I watched the first episode and I was pleasantly surprised. It reminded me of Real World episodes from the late 90s.
The second half of the episode pretty much focused on Katelyn and the Iraqi veteran coming off as a f*cker.

Where did the "he's Andersons ex" come from? And why did they choose to do 8?
Yeah, I was wondering about the Anderson Cooper connection also.
And wow, Chet is the gayest straight man I've ever seen.
