She's the worst, but it did make me chuckle.
"I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was ... interesting."
Vulture
I really hate it when ANYBODY says, "I thought it was ... interesting."
It means nothing except you lack enough of a spine to say something one way or the other. It's not showing tact, it's showing a total lack of commitment to state your opinion. It's a waste of breath and syllables. Don't bother opening your mouth, then.
The only one who can get away with it is Dame Maggie Smith, in full period costume.

That's one of my board pet peeves! Interesting is the new amazing in terms of the word just seeming to have lost all meaning.
"If anything, this will be very interesting to me." Really? I never would have guessed since you're posting about it
"Vulture"
You make me laugh, PRS.

Ha, well, that's just the name of the site, but I'm always happy to make someone chuckle!
Doh. I didn't catch that.
I thought you were referring to her... I'm still going to think you were referring to her. And I think it's perfect.

Ha ha! I did, too.
In general you are probably right, best12, but in this case I think Madonna knew exactly what she was saying and how it would be construed...by using "interesting" she was not trying to be tactful, just bitchy.
Madonna hasn't crossed me yet, so I'm still loyal.
I'm waiting for the Madonna fans to start making excuses for her attitude.
I don't mind the use of the word "interesting" in that context at all. In fact, I use it when it's appropriate.
I think it's an acceptable response to something you didn't think much of if you don't want to say anything outright negative or insulting.
Another word that is universally hated but I like, is "whatever." I know, I know, but it sometimes expresses exactly what I mean.
I'm also still a fan of Madonna and if anyone is justified in having an attitude, it's her. Or she. whatever! lol.
Since Madonna's latest single is about to show the world that Madonna is stealing from - well - Madonna - She really has little room to comment.
"lol" is another one that has lost its meaning, since few people are actually laughing when they type that, let alone doing so out loud.
I think Madonna's "interesting" is the equivalent of what Liza's would be if Lady Gaga were to steal or borrow from her. Liza would say it was "terrific."
The only honest performer I can remember who spoke out when another performer "stole" her material was Jennifer Holiday--and she received so much grief about that she had to appear with Jennifer Hudson and sing the song as a duet.

And then there was that unfortunate incident with Martha Raye and Bette Midler.
Bette stole Martha Raye's entire LIFE!
I'm gonna steal Anth's machismo
(or at least borrow it over the weekend.....)
So wait, Madonna's attitude is bad because she called her out for ripping off her song? OK, that makes sense.
She could have said much worse, i mean many others did when the song came out.
She also prasied Gaga saying she was very talanted etc jst 5 mins ago on the Graham Norton show here in the UK
I'm tired of the Madonna and Gaga steal arguments. Honestly, what artist doesn't steal. We are all impacted by the works of others. People who had less success than Madonna or Gaga are the ones who get pissed. They probably were inspired by someone else too. Haters gonna hate. The fact is Madonna or Gaga made it palatable and profitable and you didn't. Wah Wah.
I happen to like the fact the by being a fan of Madonna I was introduced to TONS of artists and performers who she openly professed to admiring. Same for Gaga-my goddaughter now knows about Leigh Bowery, Missing Persons and a few other classic artists due to her nods to them.
Also, it cracks me up that people would be happy to think of Dale Bozzio as a has been/one hit wonder, but the minute Gaga mimics her it's like, "she's copying the LEGENDARY Dale Bozzio." Get a grip people.
Everyone borrows. Nothing is original.
Maybe Madonna will discuss it tonight while she's being interviewed on 20/20.
Madonna gave a really wonderful interview on the show tonight. She was happy, funny and honest. It was also the most comfortable I've seen her in a Q&A setting in quite a long time.
It was a fun interview. And I'm sorry, she is STILL the Queen.
Her boyfriend is 24. Of course she's relaxed Jordan.
I can sleep better knowing that Madonna has to beg for foot rubs from her child boyfriend. Damn it, celebrities are just like us.
Loved the interview! Thought Madonna looked fabulous and that she came off as open, honest and sincere. Of course she's a Diva. She's earned it. And I wouldn't have it any other way. But her comments regarding Lady Gaga were far from insulting.
I have to beg for foot rubs from my child husband.
