There used to be a thread, but couldn't find it. I like seeing what others are reading/think about it for ideas on what to buy next.
I just finished reading "Michael Tolliver Lives." Great to get back in touch with the folks formerly of Barbary Lane.
What are you reading/what did you just finish reading?
Recently finished - "State of Fear" by Michael Crighten (sp) and "Son of a Witch" by Gregory MaGuire.
Currently reading - Interview with a Vampire - Anne Rice
Tink... that's almost like you're reading a list of books recommended by me.
hehe, well start recommending more because I'm almost through, hehe.

Just posted in spidey's post!
I'm reading "From The Corner of His Eye" by Dean Koontz right now. It's very good - creepy and twisty, suspenseful, hard to put down.

Alternating between Special Topics in Calamity Physics by Marisha Pessl and Rant by Chuck Palahniuk.
Finally getting around to reading The Corrections by Franzen.
"This is Your Brain on Music" and "The Last Man Who Knew Everything"
I just started reading NAKED, a biography on Michael Lucas and I can not put the book down!!!
peach, seriously when you finish that post your reaction. I read that one and have a question, I don't want to say anything until you finish though.
I finished Native Tongue by Carl Hiaasen, which was funny and exciting.
Now I'm on The Order of the Phoenix in my pre Deathly Hallows Harry Potter reread.

taz - I've got about 300 pages to go (this book is pretty long). So far, interesting characters. I'm waiting to see how they all end up.
it is a bit on the long side peach, but I will say no more!
I finished 'Blood Beast' by Darren Shan at lunch time, and I'll be finishing the fourth and final 'Travelling Pants' by Ann Brashares tomorrow lunchtime, and will probably go back to this Jerome Robbins biography I found kicking about. I should be reading 'Dune' by Frank Herbert, because I need to give it back to the guy I borrowed it from, but I might try rereading all the Harry Potters in the next three weeks. It's doable, I just don't know if I have the will. Oh, and I got a proof copy of the new Robert Rankin, 'The Da-Da-De-Da-Da Code'. It is, as you'd expect, a Rankin-esque take on 'The Da Vinci Code', and is bloody entertaining for it. ^_^
What, me? One book at a time? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
ok i hope you don't mind textbooks being listed too.

I just finished "A Thousand Splendid Suns" by Khaled Hosseini (Kite Runner Author)
Um.... I'm not sure I can express the love I have for that book. It's an incredible story about two women in Kabul. He is the Arab Victor Hugo.
Khaled is doing an AMAZING and super important thing by making his stories accessbile to Western audeinces. When you read this one you will know what I mean. George Bush spent 8 years demonizing Arabs and Muslims, this man's work brings the reality of war and Afghanistan right into your lap. Walk don’t run. This is the best book of the summer. I promise you.
Next up: Tobacco Road.
I read The Kite Runner. Loved it. Did you know they are making it into a movie to come out this fall?
Yes, I can't wait to see the trailer.
Taz, I wished you live closer I would hand deliver this new hardback. It is absolutely incredible.
I think this book would make an really great series on HBO.
I'm reading Blood and Gold, by Anne Rice.
I just finished reading Generation S. L. U. T., by Marty Beckerman.
I can't remember what I read before that.
I think it was The Devil Wears Prada.
I've almost finished Lisey's Story by Stephen King. Vaguely reminiscent of The Talisman and Rose Madder. It's a very interesting read.
Rereading Dorian Gray.
Just finished my pre-Deathly Hollows Harry Potter reread as well as my first and second reread for when the third Maximum Ride book came out. And I just finished OUR TOWN which happened to be a very short read. Now I'm working on the CRUCIBLE.
"Something Borrowed" by Emily Griffin. Leave me alone, it's summer.
Also preparing - I'm about half way through my Half-Blood Prince re-read.
I need to brush up on my Harry Potter, as well.
