Here's another question:
If Mary were only the vessel, so that Jesus wasn't genetically hers, why would she have needed to be born without sin? Does that mean that original sin - which Mary was spared vis a vis her being Immaculately Conceived (a phrase often misinterpreted to mean the Virgin Birth when the two concepts are completely different and apply to two different beings, Mary and Jesus) - passed down congenitally rather than genetically?
