Since the bible specifically says he was unremarkable, I would think he had to blend in. If he looked Swedish, it would probably be noted.

It's one of those things we'll never know, like how did everything begin? I am not Christian, nor a very religious Jew. So, I'm not sure that there ever was this man called Jesus, or Moses, or anyone. There is no proof. Only what was written by those "guys."
Please know that I am not putting down, nor criticizing anyone for their faith. It's just me, needing proof. Faith helps millions of people get through life, and death and I'm glad they have that. I believe in whatever works.

Jesus was mentioned by two independent sources outside of the Gospel writers. The Jewish historian Josephus included both him and John the Baptist in his history of the Jewish people that was published late in the first century.
The Roman historian Tacitus also included a reference to the Jesus's execution, ordered by Pilate. This was published early in the second century.
Now, of course, both of these historians were born after Jesus's death, so they are still not first-hand witnesses or accounts, but they are both considered significant as sources from outside of Christianity that there was a man named Jesus who was baptized by John the Baptist (as recorded by Josephus) and was executed at the hands of Pontius Pilate (recorded by both Josephus and Tacitus).

AEA, thanks for the info. But- was Jesus' body missing from the cave, and did he ascend three days later, did Moses part the Red Sea, etc. Do you believe all the things that were written really happened? things that made these men the magical people they are known to be? I don't know. I can't use those stories as a basis for living my life.

Leading a life of faith (of any religion) requires, to at least some tiny extent, the ability to suspend disbelief. The stories, whether true or not, are parables. They are to teach lessons that follow a general set of faith-based morals & values. To some, that is easy to do. To others, that seems impossible. We are all different and that is the beauty of the world.

I never said they were. I'm allowed to post what's on my mind. I already mentioned in the previous post that I WAS GLAD THAT SOME PEOPLES' FAITH GETS THEM THROUGH LIFE AND DEATH. IT'S A GOOD THING THEY HAVE THAT.
