Who's going to write the script for the upcoming award ceremonies? I'm assuming someone's paid to do that, right?

If the writer's strike is still going on there won't be an awards ceremony. Who's gonna cross the picket lines? Should be interesting and VERY disappointing. mom

I just hate all these strikes! I missed some Broadway shows last month because of a strike. I'm missing some great TV because of the strikes. Settle already!

Back at the beginning of the strike it was mentioned in relation to Jon Stewart, and if he would still host the Oscars
...somewhere at home I saved the article I will post it later.

All I know is if he is not a guest on Larry King of Countdown, Hardball -- somewhere soon I am going to loose what's left of my sanity. David Letterman was on Howard Stern on Wednesday ...boy did he let it rip after 5 weeks with no outlet...he was tearing into everyone...It was a serious madcrazy time.............

HAHA!

Good thing I don't watch the talk shows. We're too busy catching up on our tivo'd stuff. We still haven't watched last week's Nip/Tuck.

Thank god there are 8 new episodes of Las Vegas in the can (he he). It was good to plan ahead

This show officially died when they gave James Caan the bums rush. Long live Big Ed.

I'm so over Las Vegas. I think I'm actually over Josh D's hotness. He's the only reason I watched the show.

supportivemom, the only shows that I am in angst over are The Daily Show and Colbert Report, oh that and it put Nine on hold...(total downer on so many levels...mostly personal) -- Nonethless I am in complete support of the writers, the studios are just gluttonous.

Thanks...Jay is a saint isn't he?

Monk and Psych had already filmed the 2nd half of their season and because of the format FNL had 15/22 filmed so still about 3-4 shows still in the can after the new year ...they are the only network shows I watch religiously so I am okay until the summer season is pre-empted

the award shows will go on--just no script. i'm guessing writers wouldn't show up to accept awards--but who knows?

it means stewart won't be hosting the oscars if the strike doesn't end.

They can't trust 50 or so actors writing their own stuff.

if an actor wants to say something controversial instead of just announcing the nominees and winner, they could do so even with a script. they do that now.

I don't remember what they did during the last writer's strike in the late 80s, but the conventional wisdom is that the award shows will go on.

many actors won't attend the awards in solidarity of the writers.
The HFPA has said that if the strike is still on as of Jan. 13, they will most likely not hold a ceremony.

....but the world goes 'round

I wonder if the film stars will make the same decision to boycott the award show like several of the tv show stars have already stated they would. A few stars said unless they are contractually bound to attend the Golden Globes, they would not cross the picket lines.

On the bright side of things, without writers maybe the Grammy Awards will focus on the music and have more performances.

Katherine Heigl made a point of saying she would not be crossing picket lines for the GGs.

I hope it goes on for awhile, and all the doped-up Americans who use this as an escape are forced to confront their ridiculous realities.

Of course, that will never happen - as they'll be completely happy watching the reruns they only partially paid attention to in the first place, in between drinking beer and ignoring their children.

Jesus Christ, what an effing snob. Is there anybody you're not superior to? Your dependency on scotch makes you inherently better than all beer drinkers, that's for sure. DEFINITELY better than TV viewers. And as for doped up, well...
