She lets them make some gnocchi and other doughy type foods. The children are introduced to the love of cooking and sharing with family. They will always have warm memories of cooking with their grandmother.
Ina long ago sold the Barefoot Contessa. Under her ownership it was very successful.
"I am open, and I am willing,
For to be hopeless would seem so strange.
It dishonors those who go before us,
So lift me up to the light of change."

Wow, Rachael's knife skills ARE reaelly bad! She was just chopping together all this garlic, lemon zest, and parsley together...it was barely getting cut up the way she was trying to cut it. I was laughig so hard.
"I can't figure out what kind of life this is, comedy or tragedy, I just know it's showbiz. And what if I don't agree with the lines I have to read? They don't pay me enough, the way I see it."
That's because she goes too fast and does everything half-assed.
Do you know how many starving children she could feed with the food that misses her bowls and pots? She hurls and flails and shovels ingredients all over the kitchen counters and floors.
I call her show "30-Minute Meals, and 90-Minute Cleanups"
"Jaws is the Citizen Kane of movies."

I'm watching Food Network now! I'm not a fan of Rachael Ray and Sandra Lee. Sandra Lee is SO boring and always talking about her niece and Rachael is just annoying.
Just because I got the lead doesn't mean you can't be my understudy!:)
Good point about Racahel - best12. I was making one of her recipes once, and my husband , trying to be funny, set the timer for 30 minutes. Well, I finished the dish in 29 and a half, but my kitchen looked like a tornado came through. Tip to anyone making a Rachael Ray recipe - give yourself 40 minutes and enjoy the experience!
I am going to bake one of these red velvet cakes you all speak so fondly of.
Have we not discussed the Hearty Boys? Now they are truly annoying. The hyper one is a control freak, and is always looking over the other one's shoulder. You so know he is biting his toungue, just wanting to comment on the other guy's knife technique, stove temp, etc...He's a like a backseat driver.
Although, I did make their onion sage tartlet for a party once. It was a hit.
I do agree. "it's BAM!" Just shut up and stop barging into people's bathrooms!

Bump to move our conversation from the Sneaks on a plane thread.
I don't think Paula's accent is fake. Have you ever MET anyone from Savannah? I do think she says Y'all more and more drawly than the average person though.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

She is #81 on the richest celebrities list. I find that hard to believe. I guess she sells a lot of cookbooks. The one with the soup suds dripping off her lip is a bit much.

"Carson has combined his passion for helping children with his love for one of Cincinnati's favorite past times - cornhole - to create a unique and exciting event perfect for a corporate outing, entertaining clients or family fun."
I know I am totally in the minority on this, and I'm a 47 on the Kinsey scale, so it doesn't matter anyway, but...
...she is So. Unbearably. Fricking. Sexy.
Suzanne: I never use catalogs. I'd rather go in the store and see all the salespeople groveling and sucking up to you.
Julia: Pardon me, I never knew they were so solicitous at the K-Mart.
