The tips of both my ring and bird-flipper fingers of my left hand have been numb for about 45 minutes.
wierd.
Isn't middle finger easier than bird-flipper finger? lol
Instant karma.

Go see a doctor. I might very well be a sign of a stroke to come.
Jersy: Yes, but not as funny
Raith: I'd flip you the bird, but my finger is numb.
Frank: I will if it doesn't go away. I'm more worried about cardiac issues than stroke.
Is it your left hand?
And it's Rath. The i is in the second syllable.
I am sure it is nothing. Even if it gets worse, don't worry about it. :)

Carpel Tunnel?
yes left hand.
Rath.. excuse me :)
Jersey... I think you and I are going to be pals despite minor political differences.
You're excused.
It can also be a sign of diabetes.
At least that is what I have been told.
Is it your "good" hand? Seriously... if it lasts a couple days...get it checked. I had numbness like that and it was a good thing I got it checked by a Doc. But it's probably nothing serious.
actually diabetes might be the problem... crap
No it's my non-dominant hand.

Have a cigarette.
I knew a girl once who had numbness in the tips of her fingers.
And then she died.
non-dominant hand?
Good, then you can still feel when you...
It could also be from a pinched nerve somewhere else.
...Or the Bubonic Plague.

So as you surf the web, do you lean on your left elbow? You might be pinching nerves that could cause finger numbness.

Okay, have you been using your left hand extensively? Or, more to the point, your left wrist? It could be some kind of RSI, like carpal tunnel or inflammation of the ulnar nerve. (The fact that neither your thumb nor pinky are affected seems to contradict that, though.)
In any case, numbness in the extremities could be from something as small as an RSI- treat with ice and corticosteroids- or as bad as some kind of peripheral nerve problem. Seriously, get it looked at.

Go in and have your blood glucose checked. You don't even have to make an appointment. If you suspect diabetes...you need to go in. (I live with diabetes....easy to manage if you follow your doctor's instructions and do what you're supposed to do.) Here's a link to check out symptoms and to learn if you're at risk.
American Diabetes Association Risk Test
I was just about to mention the diabetic thing. You should really check that out. The longer you don't know the worse you health gets.
call a doctor.....sheesh

I have severe CTS and this happens often...of course, it could be any of thousands of things, so if it happens repeatedly, go see someone.
I love it when people turn to BWW for medical advice
it can be a pinched nerve in your neck or shoulder. i used to get pins and needle sensations because of it.
