I somehow have a feeling that Megan Mullally also could own that catergory for Young Frankenstein. Though many people have doubt I feel A Tale Of Two Cities will be a macho hit. Its recording got awesome reviews and it is a classic story plus a amazing design comitee. It's almost a guarenteed hit
I don't think there is any way Young Frankenstein and The Little Mermaid WON'T be nominated, and I'm sure one of the other spots will go to In The Heights, it's the fourth slot that is up in the air. I say Cry Baby, just because I like the movie so much already, but that doesn't mean a lot. So I say:
Young Frankenstein
The Little Mermaid
In the Heights
Cry Baby
I predict Young Frankenstein to win!
I think they will win all the acting awards also but best actor. I think Daniel Russell will take that one. Jenna is good, but Megan is better (if she is leading)!

Oh, how I loathe these Tony nom threads. But I'll chime in after having just seen Young Frankenstein.
Without a doubt it will be nominated for Best Musical, and of course for set, lighting, costumes (all of which were fabulous). As far as performers go, I'm honestly not sure. I assume Bart is up for Best Actor and Fitzgerald for Best Featured Actor. The same goes for Martin and Best Featured Actress. It's Sutton and Megan that I'm concerned about, though.
Megan and Sutton won't both be in Best Actress, yet without a doubt, one will be. I feel as if Sutton has the better role, but Megan has obviously been hyped much more (or am I wrong in thinking this? More non-Broadway fans have asked me about this show, though, and they all mention Megan, as expected). It's also a step down for Sutton to nab a Best F.A. award, but hey, Martin will do it, too. So I would assume Megan as Best Actress and Sutton as BFA along with Martin, and probably nothing for Hensley (though Applegate MAY grab a Featured nom, but only if it's a slow year).
So ends my YF shpiel.
With the early "out of town" reviews, I don't see FRANK or MERMAID winning Best Musical, nominations, perhaps.
I'm rooting for A CATERED AFFAIR.

Bold Prediction:
Musical:
A Catered Affair
In the Heights
Xanadu
Young Frankenstein
Regarding Young Frankenstein - Mullally only gets 2nd billing because she's a "name." Her part is clearly featured, and I'd assume the nominating committee will see that, as well.

Yankee, the same could have been said for Debra Monk. Her part is clearly featured in Curtains and the producers wanted to consider her as leading.
As for the nominations, as of right now there are only 6 new musicals confirmed for this season. They are the 4 that Yankee mentioned, plus Lone Star Love and Little Mermaid. From the early buzz in Denver, it doesn't sound like Mermaid will be getting a Best Musical nod, though it might get nominations in other categories. Lone Star Love is supposed to be good though, and has a lot of loved Broadway veterans in the cast. I wouldn't be surprised if it took In the Heights' spot.
IN THE HEIGHTS all the way!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually, you're leaving out CRY-BABY which will also be a strong competitor. Also, if A TALE OF TWO CITIES finds a theatre, it'll enter the running though from the concept recording I doubt the show will be nominated.
Too early for predicting nominations, when every show has an out-of-town trial we can at least start making some informed guesses and even then...
When exactly is CRY BABY supposed to make the transfer to Broadway? What theatre will it take?
My predictions (for now):
YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN
THE LITTLE MERMAID
IN THE HEIGHTS
A CATERED AFFAIR
Ray, my post was about the 6 that have been confirmed for Broadway this season. While it is totally possible, maybe even probable, that Cry Baby will make it this season, it hasn't been confirmed.
I reckon 'The Little Mermaid' will bag it.

That was my thought exactly, Yankee -- her part is genuinely a featured role. Still, if the producers urged Monk to be a leading, I feel (though I regret) that the YF producers will urge Mullally for leading as well. Ehhhh.
Given the fact that so many of the posters on this board routinely slam the Tony Nominating Committee and the final Awards decisions, I just don't get the point of this thread. Discuss the upcoming shows all you want, but disregard the Tony Awards, PLEASE! Look what happened to GREY GARDENS, with its two stars "guaranteed" to receive the Tony Awards at this point back in 2006. You were right, but the show closed anyway. That's throwing the baby out with the bath water.
Nominations
A Catered Affair
In the Heights
Young Frankenstein
With Xanadu or The Little Mermaid taking the last spot.
I'm surprised more people aren't anticipating a win for A Catered Affiar, the creative team is fantastic!
I think the Tony voters are going to be hesitant with YF because of the mistakes they realized they made after Lane and Broaderick left in The Producers. TLM may be too theme-parkish, which will leave it out.

ahmelie - The creative team was fantastic for Deuce, as well.
I have a little feeling that MERMAID will probably bag the most nominations (and even wins) but be left out of the Best Musical race.
Mermaid's not gonna win much.
I think it has a great chance at costumes, featured actress, choreography, set, lighting, orchestrations, sound, and MAYBE actress.
If anything, I think A Catered Affair will win best book. I am up in the air about best score, but I HONESTLY think The Little Mermaid has some really catchy additional songs to it's already good ones from the movie.
They did not make any mistakes with the Producers. It was the best in it's season, and that is what it comes down to. Who cares if it isn't the best ever. I still think it deserved it's awards.
I don't think Young Frankenstein will win as many as The Producers, but it has a VERY strong cast. Whatever category Megan is in she will at least get nominated. YF also has some really catchy songs (not as many as Little Mermaid, in my opinion) but still quite a few.
I admit that I am biased, but "Xanadu" will definitely get a nomination, given the reviews.
LuPo, I actually do think The Producers deserved most of its awards. I was saying how I don't think the Tony voters really want to give Mel so many awards again. This is such a stronger and more competative season, how ever.
americanboy, with In the Heights coming, I don't think TLM will win choreography. Have any of the reviews even really talked about it?
And with some many Featured Actress contendors this year, I don't think it's a safe bet to assume a win for Scott, especially if the show doesn't get good reviews.
Well, Scott is long overdue for a Tony. So, I'd call her the frontrunner.
Yeah, probably so on the choreography, but we never know, do we?
SPRING AWAKENING, anyone?
(How is MERMAIDS choreoraphy?)
