I tend to think it's going to be:
Either A Catered Affair or Glory Days
Xanadu
Passing Strange
In the Heights
and In the Heights will win

Wow, I can't believe it! This thread has not only been my most popular, but it's amazing to see what everyone's views were so long ago. Little Mermaid, one the sure fire winner, seems to be the Legally blonde of this year, and Cry Baby has recieved some of the most mixed reviews in history.
I'm still sticking by the predictions I made in November!
PASSING STRANGE
IN THE HEIGHTS
XANADU
A CATERED AFFAIR
with the very real possibility of YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN sneaking in and stealing either XANADU or AFFAIR's spot.
There is no way that "YF" will steal "Xanadu's" spot. Have not seen "A Catered Affair" yet, but I will guess that "YF" will not get a nom for best musical.
In The Heights FTW!

Alright, a site by the name of Entertainment-link posts the critic's reviews for each show using a grading system out of 5.0. Most times (Almost every year except 2002) their highest rated show wins best Musical. Though I doubt passing strange will win, here's the averages:
Xanadu: 2.5
Young Frankenstein: 2.0
The Little Mermaid: 2.0
Passing Strange: 3.8
In the Heights: 3.1
Cry Baby: 2.3
A Catered Affair: 2.5
Of the above, Xanadu, Cry Baby, and A Catered Affair received the most mixed response, all having ratings ranging from 4 to 1. Little Mermaid and In the Heights were slightly mixed, with Mermaid going from 1 to 3, and In the Heights going from 2 to 4. Young Frankenstein's reviews are rather odd with all 2 except for one 1 and one 3. Finally, Passing Strange received all 4, except for two 3. Honestly, it could go either way, though from those reviews, the predicted nominees are Passing Strange, In the Heights, Catered Affair, and Xanadu. However, knowing the other nominations, I would tend to think that A Catered Affair will take it's place as the LoveMusik of this season and not get a nomination. mermaid? I'm still predicting it being nominated for a bunch of awards, and perhaps it will surprise everyone and not only win a few, but be nominated for best Musical? In the end, I doubt it will win, but any of the nominees could win this year, for it's a very open race.
