Kad, your question regarding Fun Home should best be answered by someone who has seen the show. Having listened to it so many times I don't think any of the 4 could be considered leading roles for the girls. I believe you could argue that young Allison and older Allison have beefier roles than Middle Allison and the Mom.

I think its gonna be a tight race with The Visit and Fun Home. I think Honeymoon In Vegas and It shoulda been you will be the other 2 nominated. I feel like It shoulda been you is gonna be the upset here and get more nominations than American in Paris and Finding Neverland

^ Are you aware that It Shoulda Been You was not well received when it opened in Jersey? Why do you think it's going to "upset" a musical like American in Paris?

I've seen the show multiple times.

Beth Malone/Allison is onstage for the entirety of the show and it's really about her character's attempt to make sense of the past and present while she creates her graphic memoir. She eventually even swaps places with Middle Allison in that timeline when she has her last interaction with her father in "Telephone Wire."

For what is essentially ensemble show, she is the closest to a lead by being the core of the show and would probably be nominated as such (if at all; she was not nominated for any award last season. Truthfully, it's a thankless role that's denied a showy solo like "Changing My Major" or "Ring of Keys").

It sounds awesome, like the best in a long time can't wait. Following your lead re tix, and my annual NY trip consumes way too much of my thoughts, while the wife casually books for Hedwig round 3 in February. Favorite music in years if there's one that's close it will be a great year.

Love that Older Alison takes over on Telephone Wire, brings it all together, like her journey in recounting this, so psyched.

Bryce Pinkham is a potential nominee for Featured Actor in a Play. Of course, assuming he does a good job.

The role has been awards bait winning a Tony for Boyd Gaines and an Emmy for Tom Hulce.

I refuse to get stuck on Kelli vs Chita this early. I saw Chita twice at WTF, and she was phenomenal. Truly a special performance. But I also adore Kelli and The King and I. I will wait until I see Kelli's performance before making any judgements or predictions.

^agreed. It just blows my mind that Kelli O'hara has yet to win ANY New York acting award, Tony award aside. Crazy!

Has anyone heard any more news about "Little Dancer" making a transfer? I know it got good reviews and sold out in DC. Is there any chance it could transfer before the end of the season?

I think it shoulda been you will sorta be that small show that ends up doing well sorta like Ave Q or Xanadu. Isn't American in Paris mostly a dance thing? I can see people having a more enjoyable time at It Shoulda Been You and plus the cast is AMAZING!! Definately rooting for this show

Lol no I don't know anything about AIP except the fact that everybody keeps talking about how much dancing it has in it. Idk It shoulda been you just sounds really good to me and I can see it doing well

Maybe I'll feel differently about Fun Home's score after I see it, though. "

Both Kinky Boots and Fun Home have incredible scores. Matilda's score was really just mediocre at best in my opinion. That's why it lost the Tony.
