The full list I believe. They did NOT like Hadestown, apparently. The Prom got five nominations, I believe. Tootsie with 11. Oklahoma! coming in at top with 12.

This list really surprises me. Patrick Page has been systematically disregarded this season it seems. We'll have to see how the Tony nominations fall. And only one nomination for Gary, that wasn't even set design or costuming, I'm shocked. This seems to be a really unpredictable year for nominations.

Uhh, then why were Rachel Chavkin and Andre DeShields nominated?

Add me to the crew shocked about some of the play noms. Not saying the quality of the shows/actors nominated were poor as I haven't seen them, but that was a bit of a shock for sure. Especially lead actor in a play.

I think she's more than just ok. I think she's very good. I also think she's leagues better than Rebecca Naomi Jones.

I'm really hoping Steven Skybell wins for Fiddler. His performance is in a different league.

Fairview is returning in June, at Theatre for a new audience.

He certainly was. Assuming that if by "standout" you mean it stood out as one of the worst performances to appear on any stage. Ever.

This is easily one of the more asinine things I've read on these boards. I thought he was phenomenal, but even if one disagrees, the worst performance ever on a stage? Laughable.



Overall I'm surprised TKAM and All My Sons were so overlooked. Very strange re Hadestown, I assume that Gray and Page simply were ineligible. Still the Oklahoma! love here is strong- 5 acting nominations, and I expect to see something similar next week.

HUGE congrats to Sydney James Harcourt. I didnt see GFNC but he was a fantastic Burr and GW in Hamilton.

Kinda ballsy to snub Glenda Jackson, too.

Part of me wonders if it was eligible for Best Revival and got shut out, or the producers didn't want to create some confusion for its Tony campaign. To be elligible for the Tony for Best Revival, a production of a new work must not of played in the New York City for 3 years after its closing. I am assuming the Drama Desks have a similar rule. Hadestown opened at NYTW a little under 3 years ago, but technically only 2 awards seasons ago as it was nominated in 2017 for Best New Musical and lighting design. Great Comet and Dear Evan Hansen had eligibility issues in 2017 which is likely why Hadestown snagged a nomination in the first place. Considering Hadestown was nominated in nearly all of the technical categories this year I don't see why producers didn't request the show be considered a revival since everything outside of the written words and the performances of Page and Gray are new.

The fact that Page and Gray are both in very competitive categories and aren't eligible in any of the precursor awards does not bode well for their Tony chances, akin to to what happened to the supporting cast of Great Comet.
