Hearing they have scheduling issues with their team and cant come in this season.

Also I may be wrong here but I think I heard recently that Galileo (starring Raùl Esparza and Joy Woods) is coming in the spring."
I caught the presentation of this and was bored to tears. That's money wasted if they are really coming in (and I thought Lempicka was the better show...)”
Did you see a presentation post-Berkeley Rep?
With the exception of "Lost Boys" I don't want to see any of them.
"Two Strangers ..." on the other hand is brilliant and I can't wait to see it again.
With this unexciting lineup they really should bring Here We Are to Broadway.

Yes!!
Mythic is a Marcus Stevens show, right? With all my hand-wringing about new musical development, it’s great to see a fellow Pittsburgh creative really make it.

I just don’t think word of mouth matters much in regards to when shows transfer in. People on these boards ripped the tryouts to shreds for shows like The Great Gatsby and The Outsiders, and SURPRISE! They’re both still running.
People on these boards do not speak for commercial audiences, and if they did, they would have let you believe Back to the Future was so bad it was going to close immediately.
The Devil Wears Prada is still selling extremely well in London, the sequel has hyped up renewed interest in the IP, and it’s got a creative team behind it with a lot of connections.
The show not meeting this board’s criteria actually has nothing to do with anything.

Is Brokeback Mountain in Chicago next year not a Broadway try out?

Yes, that's right -- Mythic is a Marcus Stevens show. It's been in development for years, with productions in Montreal and London under a different director, but rooting for them all. It's in fantastic shape now.

Nah. It was great off-Broadway and it's unlikely they'd get any of the same cast, so no, thanks. Leave it be.

Is Benjamin Button still coming in? Gun and Powder?

Benjamin Button would be crazy not to try with such little competition on the books so far.
There aren't going to be many more musical announcements, sadly. All of them are having the same problem: no one wants to invest right now. So many high profile musicals failed to recoup/lost money last season, that the usual crop of financial backers is pulling back in a major way. (There is also hesitancy because many people feel that continued pressure could bring back tax incentives for Broadway next season, so lots of folks are saying they are holding off until then in hopes that it returns).
Purple Rain seems like the most likely to make an announcement soon. Benjamin Button producers are also trying to get things together for spring. Galileo producers are also attempting the spring because they sense the thin Best Musical field...but can they raise money in time? I'm not expecting any other new musical beyond these 3 to come in this season, unless a (financial) miracle happens.
Dolly is pushed until the fall (everything was all set for this spring, but Parton wants to continue to work on the show and her health issues sidetracked that). I'm hearing that Wanted has also been pushed to fall, despite announcing for this season, as they've had trouble raising the last bit of their capital.

There’s also the two La Jolla musicals The Heart and Working Girl. Any chance Hercules comes in?

There is still time for a decent number of non-musicals to be announced for the reminder of the season. How much more time can really pass before it is too late for a new musical to announce?
Based on what we are seeing so far, this is going to be one awful season for new musicals. Versailles sucks; 2 Strangers is a very enjoyable musical with a little more depth that the title would suggest, but it is still not the stuff of best musicals. Looking ahead, if they ever managed to open the Dolly musical this season based on the reviews, chances are that it would be another flop; maybe a Fall or later target will provide ample time to rework it if they really are capable of rethinking it (which occurs all too rarely). Purple Rain is a juke box musical, so no contributor to the best score category. Having seen and enjoyed the movie The Lost Boys decades ago, I just don't see this attracting a wide audience unless the reviews are positively spectacular. Maybe this will help the seasons' well-reviewed revivals do great business for longer than they might have.

So there are now 3 theaters seemingly left for the spring
Majestic
Jones
Winter Garden
I know Purple Rain is rumored to be the Majestic.
If Wanted to the Jones did fall through, could Galileo go there ?
And what could fill the Winter Garden ?
