She looks like Phillip Seymour Hoffman in drag. Sue me.
(btw, since I'm sure this thread is shortly going to be history, I have saved it for posterity so we can revisit all the shenanigans over and over!)

Why? Did someone ask if she was gay or something?
psh is right now demanding that this thread or any reference to him be deleted.
Personally, I think the whole thing was really not about Susan Boyle's performance as it was about the audience reaction, which is why the clip went viral, sending her into the stratosphere. It's a great clip. I don't know the official screening process of the show, so I won't pretend to know the authenticity of Simon's reaction nor is it actually important in any way, really. At this point, it's entirely moot. I do think she's talented, but it's not the greatest performance of the song. Given the stress of the situation, which appeared to have been heightened by the heckling audience, I thought her nerves came through in her performance, but she held on and pushed through quite admirably. The continued attention lavished on her is entirely media-driven, for which she truly cannot be blamed. But for me, I'd rather endure a lifetime of Susan Boyle than 15 minutes of Paris Hilton. I'm pretty grateful this happened, actually.
She's make an excellent Father Brendan Flynn in "Doubt! - The Musical"
Excellent post, Matt. Instead of picking on the public for lavishing so much attention on Susan, they must make fun of her.
No, I won't sue you Tazber, but I'll post my opinions like you are.
i'm suing mr. matt because he likes that ugly cow, susan boyle.

It's still true that it's because of how she looks that we even know about her now.

Rumor has it around Hollywood that Susan Boyle is really Philip Seymour Hoffman under very heavy makeup. His friend Casey Affleck is filming him for a documentary.
Haha, what's the MO here, keep on saying she's ugly because you think it's "getting" to me?
Toddlers! toddlers, I say!

The sixth reason this thread is hilarious:
Jane thinks it's all about her.
As usual.
where is captain oblivious when we need him?
"The sixth reason this thread is hilarious:

that's right.
Now let's see pictures of all you stunners!
Somebody had far too much time on their hands to come up with all that. Talk about overthinking something that isn't even serious.
After reading most of the messages in this thread, it only reinforces why I rarely visit this site, let alone post here anymore.
To those of you who are "over her" or are "sick of hearing about her" and even those who think she doesn't deserve the attention she's getting... TOO BAD. If you don't like her, don't listen to her... change the channel.. talk about something else.
To sit here and complain about her and her moment in the limelight just shows jealously and intolerance, which many people who post here are full of.
You should be embracing the fact that sometimes dreams do come true, not judge whether she's deserving of it or not. Obviously the public disagrees with you.
Grow up, people... stop acting like school children making fun of the kid in the class who isn't up to your "standards".

Then perhaps you shouldn't post at all.

By your logic, if you don't like threads that aren't about jizzing all over oneself and the wonder that is Susan Boyle, don't open them. Don't read them. Don't post on them while talking about how you never post anymore.
But I'm starting to understand what all this is about. This is about a bunch of frumpy, middle-aged people with no prospects suddenly having a hero.

Anyone who pulls the "this is why I don't post anymore"/"I'm leaving BWW" card is douche and should be ignored. As if your leaving of a message board you haven't posted on more than 100 times will somehow change anyone's opinion.

I thought YOU were my hero, Phyllis!
and yeah, this post is about me.

Yeah ... I am so sick of her ... everyone asks ME about her cause "I know Broadway/singing stuff" and they all say "Isn't she just amazing ???" and I have to disagree ... like, she's fine ... but not the international phenomenon that the rest of the world thinks she is ... like stated earlier, if she had been good looking, none of this craziness would have happened ...

Why is it Ok for Susan Boyle to use her bad looks as a stepping stone to stardom but not for someone pretty to use their good looks the exact same way?
You're both my hero!
"I thought you were MINE, Janey!"
I AM, Phyll. xoxoxox off to work!
Most entertaining thread of the day.
there are no heroes left, son.
