No, I mean I wanted it in the theatre I work in. Allison Janney beats a child molester any day.

Funniest thread of the night!
Oh, and congrats to the creative team of Two Cities.

I'd rather be out drinking to celebrate, but instead I am in the library working on a major paper on Lerner and Loewe.

Posted: 3/24/08 at 9:26pmHopefully they make some changes. Wasn't a fan of it when I saw it out of town. I also wanted 9 to 5 but I can't see this lasting long. I never thought this would transfer.

Posted: 3/24/08 at 11:57pmThere's a casting notice on actorsequity.com for all roles, so I presume Barbour as well as others may be replaced.

LET'S ASSUME FOR A MOMENT...
that Mr. Barbour isn't signed-on the production anymore. Who would YOU cast in his place for the B'way run? Put on your director caps now, boys and girls! Have fun!

So that's where it's ending up!
Believe it or not, A TALE OF TWO CITIES was nearly booked at another prominent theatre for the 2008-09 season. The producers pulled-out in the last minute, and now we know why. Broadway opened its doors!
Another gothic musical based on a Victorian novel on Broadway. To follow the path of the others before it? Have a lifetime over 5 months? I don't know anything about it other than the videos and photos that've been been released.

Posted: 3/25/08 at 3:14amI do hope James Barbour does the show. He is an amazing talent, learned his lesson, and has been punished for it already.

Learned his lesson? Meaning he is not going to go after any other underage girl? God knows that if I were a parent I wouldn't let my teenage son or daughter stagedoor this show.
I have listened to the concept cast recording and find it completely uninspired, derivative, and plain dull. We'll see how much it has changed by the time it arrive as the Hirschfeld.
Oh, and 9 TO 5 is definitely coming to Broadway regardless of whether the Hirschfeld is taken or not.

It is too soon to say Barbour learned his lesson or not? When I hear he has had some intense behavior re-training, than maybe. I love all of his publicists though!
It is great news if Barbour pulled out so the show can go on. Bad, if other performers pull out because they don't want to go on stage with him or have any connection to a scandal like this.
It really is too bad to have so much bad publicity tied to it but since it was NYC who went easy on Barbour, let them handle him, saves us the bill. As far as I am concerned, it already had its preview in Florida. With all the money tied into it now, they might as well let it roll and see how it goes.
As long as we don't have to "lock up our teenagers" (good quote). Though I hate to see him put out there in anyone else's neighborhood, so that they have to deal with the security.
If it was strictly an "Adult Show", than I could care less but it isn't. So I have to show some concern for those poor kids who are looking for attention in all the wrong dressing rooms and too young to realize they all lead in the wrong direction for their lives.
Maybe Barbour can take over for Quaid in "Lone Star Love"? I hear they could use a Lead Character who is a buffoon? Sounds like a perfect fit to me?

There was an article a few months ago stating that the producers are sticking with Barbour which is a pretty ballsy move. It can go either way.
I enjoyed the show when I saw it in Florida and I'm glad that it's moving to Broadway. I wouldn't be surprised if there's another out of town tryout. Plenty of time between now and then to mount one.
Should be interesting to see what happens next.
