Previews start tomorrow night (the 21st)!
I went to the dress rehearsal this evening and let me just say, this production is STUNNING and will make you rethink how fantastic View is as a play, and Mark Strong is giving an incredible performance, also onstage seating is AWESOME (and surprisingly comfortable)

If you could sit at the seat at either the lip of the stage, or centered, in front row onstage seating, which would you pick? I'm assuming lip, but just in case...

i mean the way its staged, none of the onstage seating is bad and its actually done stadium style so id actually recommend sitting further back, but probably more center would be good but I did sit fourth row towards the lip of the stage and my view was really great
Can you speak to the design of the show? I'm guessing it's done in the round?

Thanks, I have a half of a front row next week (5 seats) and I'm the planner, so I wanted to figure out if I should grab the lip or the "aisle."

Would those who have seen the Bridge previews recommend this over The Humans or the Sam Shepard? I can only see 2 of the 3 this trip
thanks
How were the accents? Especially the young girl playing Catherine had some issues last time I saw it.
Deco, everything I've heard about this screams GO!

I see it is performed with no intermission. What is the run time?

According to the LCT website, 1 hour and 55 minutes with no intermission.
I'll be there tonight! Snagged onstage seats yesterday for me and my boyfriend. I'm looking forward to it. I've never seen View on stage or an Ivo van Hove production, period. Though, in theory, I'm a fan of both.
If Whizzer sees this...do you know yet if you'll go to View or China Doll tonight, with both productions beginning previews this evening? It's a force of habit for me now to look for your review after first previews!

Tough call, but I would skip Fool for Love if you have to skip one. Loved all three though.
Agreed, drop Fool For Love, see the other two.
I second dropping Fool for Love.
Saw the NT Live broadcast of this and feel so alone. I thought it was gimmicky, tacky, and over-wrought. The production, that is--good performances. I've seen this whole bag of tricks used so many times.

I'm looking forward to sitting on the stage. I think that sounds like fun and something different. Has onstage seating been done before and if so, where and when?
For this play or on Broadway at all?
On Broadway: Spring Awakening, Xanadu, and Equus spring to mind.

The Mark Rylance Shakespeare plays. Well, at least Twelfth Night.

No, the original production.
Just got back from tonight's first preview. What a remarkable production this is. I can't even really describe it. The direction is what makes this production so unique and great. The production is extremely simple, but the play itself is elevated to an entire new level as a result. Every single production element ranging from the stark set to the eerie sound effects help create a world of building tension and suspense. The performances are all stellar. There's not much more I can say about this other than do not miss it!

Anyone try the rush for this show? I noticed that 2 rows of stage seating aren't being sold through Telecharge and was wondering if anyone knew if those were the rush seats? Thanks!
