Maybe I underestimate their importance (considering the reviews etc..) but I feel like the biggest problem with the extension besides theatre availability etc.. is Bernadette (e.g. I can easily see Raines being replaced by anyone).
Ebersole as Sally is a fantastic idea.
Why, thank you very much. I take full credit if it happens.
Omg Kad, I just laughed SO hard at that!
Bernadette will only miss approx. 15 performances if they extend till June (assuming she can still do Saturday Matts and perform a concert at night).
Considering there will be less pressure to make a profit in such a short time, maybe they can just use her understudy...there are still another 150 performances or so that Bernadette can perform.
And if some aren't selling well she could cancel them now, which some members on this forum suspect has happened in the past (https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.php?thread=925790&boardname=&boardid=1)

Um...most of her concerts are in the midwest and Florida. Not sure what you're talking about here. Perform a matinee then do a concert in Cincinnati in the evening?
The person who posted on ATC is usually reliable. I wouldn't be surprised if this were true.
I'm not that familiar with US geography {and didn't even pay attention to it TBH} and just assumed air travel made it plausible. (Although I suppose thinking about how LAX-JFK is like 5 hours, clearly it will be a problem). I guess missing Saturdays for a month is pretty inconvenient.
As I had said, they should get an established name to cover her absences.
It wouldn't be possible. There's also the matter of sound checks, rehearsal, and the like. Even if it would, do you think she'd want to perform a matinee, drive an hour to the airport, fly in, perform a concert, fly back, then perform another matinee the next day?
If this extension happens and Bernadette stays but keeps her dates, she'd probably have to miss 1-3 days for each concert. Especially when the concert dates are close together.
"Ladies and Gentlemen - At this performance the role of Sally Durant Plummer will be played by LIZA MINNELLI!"
^ Sally's first "ta-da" would last fifteen minutes.
Vicki Clarke is my first choice to replace Bernsie (but I wouldn't mind Mrs Danny Burstein, she played older in DEATH TAKES..).
I can actually hear Luker's IN BUDDY'S EYES.

She wouldn't need to play older. She's older than Sally's age in the script.
But GOD, it would be amazing in a dozen different ways.
"^ Sally's first "ta-da" would last fifteen minutes."
In her case, it would be a "ssshhhhta-da, momma!"
Ahh...Liza as Sally...
"I shoulda wohn green! My muthah woah green! heHEH!"
"I'm SO glad I came!" (said with Liza's lispy thing)
"You said you LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVED MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!"
"Oh my friggin God it IS tomorrow!"

EVITA should storm the Palace!
She desrves nothing less.
"Ben, Lishun. If you, I mean, really. If you don't kish me, I'm, well, y'know I'm jusht, well, I'm jusht gonna die!"
"The shhun comesh up, I think about you- really, I do, I think about you! The coffee cup, it'sh full of coffee, y'know, shometimes, if I hadn't had any to drink, well, really, but I think about you! I want you sshhho, it's like, well, it's like, what good is sitting alone in your room? Come hear the muussshic play! Loooossing my mind!"
This may seem a little bit out-there to some people...but what about Alice Ripley as Sally?

Unfortunately there's no way she could handle it vocally.
"BEN!!!!!! IF YOU DON'T KISS ME, I'M GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
NOOOOOOO DON'T LOOK AT ME!!!!!!!!
^ And she means that shlt, too.
The only role Liza MIGHT pull off is Carlotta and it would be a struggle. And they would probably have to remove her from "Who's That Woman", I don't think she does much intense tapping now.
STRITCH FOR HATTIE. FINALLY on Broadway! Though I have no qualms whatsoever about Houdyshell (or anyone else in this cast, for that matter).
I just hope this doesn't turn into CHICAGO...but I don't think Kaiser and the KC would allow that.
