Declan Bennett will be back in the ensemble on Monday, which is also the day Tony is expected to come back as St. Jimmy barring any sudden worsening of his illness. And Ben Thompson will be out all next week for his wedding/honey moon.

I saw the show for the first time last night. Loved it. Having never seen John Gallagher Jr....I did love Van Hughes as Johnny.
On the Twitter thing - I can see how the misinterpretation occurred - but twitter not the place for Aspen to address this - surely a text message or a PM to her cast mate would've been more appropriate. But given Ms Vincent's reaction on Tony day *shrugs*
Word is that Stark might be out on Monday & Tuesday for the HBO pilot so Van will go on. Of course, this is all subject to change.

Can't remember the exact words off the top of my head, but it was a touch ranty about the show's omission. Which is fair enough, but not on a public forum. I'll go have a search and see what I can find.
ETA 1
Going back down her twitter it was a little series of
" What. On. Earth.
just kind of numb. in shock.
i guess it's always a risk that when you do something different there will be people that don't understand... but NONE of our actors? our director? our choreographer? our unbelievable musical arranger? what??? "
Which isn't as ranty as I remembered - I'm sure there was someone in the AI cast who said F@ck you to the nominators on twitter...
ETA 2 - it was her husband on twitter. My apologies. His post tony tweets were:
is mystified and in utter disbelief.
we take it as it is-- and we move on like professionals. we take the high road and we nail it every night. **** 'em! 7:53 PM May 4th via yoono
It's strange how you magnifythings in your mind when you haven't read them for a while. My apologies.

Word is that Stark might be out on Monday & Tuesday for the HBO pilot so Van will go on and Miguel will be in Theo's track on Tuesday. Of course, this is all subject to change.
And these probably won't be the only days he's on as Tunny. These are expected to just be the first two definite ones.

Saw the show Sat nite with Van on for John ,Josh on for Tony ,Leslie on for Mary etc etc . I have seen the show with all the originals and then again last nite . Wow i loved all of them, there was an amazing energy in the theater .. Also sat near Ian Cusick (Desmond from Lost )his wife and 4 kids .They seemed to love it as much as i did ...
Today's matinee:
Van will be on for Will.
Leslie will be on for Heather.
Christina will be on for Whatsername.
Libby will be on for Extraordinary Girl.
Aspen & Corbin will be on for Libby & Leslie, respectively.
This is the first show Esper's missed, if Van is in fact going on. Is this also the first time Christina's covering Rebecca?
So many people in and out. It's a demanding show.
Van is on, and this is the first show Esper's missed PERIOD. He never called out in Berkeley, either.

Yes it is!
Good for Esper for making it so far into the run without missing a show, that's really good for him.
Now Van's gone on for all the roles he covers.
The only understudies who haven't gone on yet are Aspen as Extraordinary Girl and Declan as Will. Theo was the Will understudy in Berkeley, but Esper never called out so he never went on. Chase and Ben have been on for Johnny and Tunny, respectively, but only in Berkeley.
I heard the Van did very well for Will and I also thought it was cute that he was able to go on with Leslie as his counterpart. :)
Van also did really well as Tunny on wednesday :)
Has Andrew Call been on for St. Jimmy? He covers him...right?
Has Andrew Call been on for St. Jimmy? He covers him...right?
Yup. Andrew's been on for St. Jimmy, both in Berkeley & Broadway. In fact, he was my first when I saw it in Berkeley. :) Joshua Kobak has mostly been on here in NY but Andrew's been on once or twice here.
The understudies for tonight are the same as this afternoon with the exception of...
Miguel is on for Theo (Holiday, TMTS, & E. 12th St. solos)
Gerard is on for Miguel (R&R Girlfriend solo)
Kobak is on for Gerard.

So excited for Christina- I'm sure she was a fantastic Whatsername! Would love to hear reviews from anyone who was there today!
Theo is only doing one show on the two-show days due to his injury. Good to see his back though.
According to Twitter, Leslie McDonel is on as Whatsername tonight and I'm guessing tomorrow, as well. Libby just tweeted that she is now Heather for the rest of the week, and since Leslie was supposed to be Heather through tomorrow, that would make sense.
Corbin Reid went on for her first time as "Whatsername" tonight. Corbin joined the cast with Sydney Harcourt as swings when Wallace Smith joined as ensemble/Favorite Son.
So, for "Whatsername", the understudies are Leslie McDonel, Christina Sajous, and Corbin Reid.
So, since Josh Kobak left and apparently Sydney Harcourt is now only a vacation swing, who are the new swings? They aren't listed on any website.

Apparently Mikey Winslow will be joining the cast as a swing once West Side Story closes.
And there's apparently a girl from WSS who will be a swing as well.
Also, Chase Peacock is now a St. Jimmy understudy and will probably be going on during Billie's week off in February.
Does anyone know if Chase is that strong of a singer to do St. Jimmy?
I can't really picture him in the role, but they must have picked him for a reason. I'm sure he can handle it. He probably has a better chance of going on as St. Jimmy than he ever does of going on as Johnny, unfortunately. I still feel like Andrew Call will probably do both of the gaps in Billie Joe's schedule and Chase will just be there as a back-up.
Was at the show last night. Omar is the only male swing listed as of now, and they haven't put Chase as an u/s yet. The ensemble is really great though! Chase is great in his track, as is Andrew Call, so hopefully I'll be able to catch Andrew as St. Jimmy. On the other hand I was surprised that Tony Vincent wasn't going all out, as this coming week is his last. Josh Kobak, the only other one I've seen, was absolutely amazing, so Tony was kind of a let down.
Just some other random notes- at the beginning, you could kind of tell that they haven't had much of a break recently, but somewhere in the middle everyone just started getting really good! I think it started with Alysha's riffs at the end of TMTS. And the new Heather, I think her name is Jeanna Waal, is amazing!
