Has he ever played a comedic role before?

He was the rival bandleader in "School of Rock" the movie, but I don't remember if his part was funny or not. I just know his band (his actual band, I believe) had two hard rock songs on the soundtrack.

My panties just caught on fire.
Unrelated - I googled to check if "caught on fire" is grammatically correct, you know vs. "caught fire". First 8 results were Samsung Galaxy Note 7 related articles.

It wasn't.

I admit I forgot about Disaster, but reflecting back, I don't he really got to show off any real comedic skill in that show. His "I can't live" was funny, but I think that part would have been funny with any actor. I feel like Shakespeare actually requires some innate comedic abilities - which he could very well have, but I don't think we had the chance to see it in Disaster.

I saw him in Disaster several times and he was awesome!! I'm taking my daughter to see Something Rotten tomorrow. I've already seen it twice and now it looks like I'm going to need to see it four times. So excited!! Also seeing Adam and Anthony wrap this Sunday in Connecticut!

I think he could be very good. Huey in MEMPHIS had some comedic moments.
Side note - I find this casting funny, as Adam was the first Roger in Rent, and Will Chase (the current Shakespeare) was the final Roger when the show closed on Broadway.

This is great news. I was debating going back for a fourth time for McClure and Grisetti but now my mind has been made up.

This makes how many shows now that he's been in the closing cast?

Five
Plus, he also replaced Will Chase in Aida near the end of its run.

I wouldn't say Will Chase is known for his comedic abilities, so this sounds like great casting. Would love to hear those songs in his voice. Just wish he had more of a chance to wail in the show.

True, but he was funny in Drood, and was even nominated for it. He had proved his comedic chops, even if he's not known for comedy.

This is smart casting. He should tour with this. I wouldn't have thought of this one but good on them.

I know Adam a bit and the first time I saw this show I immediately texted him and told him I thought he would be great as Shakespeare. At the time he didn't agree; so happy he changed his mind!! Haha!!

His voice on those songs would be enough for me! I need to hear him sing Will Power. Hopefully he'll add an optional high note at the end lol

I'd love to hear him sing Will Power! I doubt I'll be able to catch this again before it closes but this is pretty cool and can't wait to hear the reports.

I'm more curious to see Pascal's BOTTOM'S GONNA BE ON TOP. He's not a dancer and typically lacks a little rhythm, so seeing him tap dance should be interesting.
