Yea, maybe! And I agree - it didn't sound like she put a lot of thought into the repercussions, regardless of how people would react to what she was saying.

I saw the show during the week when Adrienne had hurt her ankle so I saw it with her alternate and Ike's understudy as well. But the board had Adrienne on the schedule for other days that week and I remember the days didn't match with what was said on here at the time. So, I had the impression that her schedule might be different each week.

I follow her on Instagram and though she doesn’t post on the photos portion she’s very active on her Instagram Stories and she gets quite bitchy and nasty towards the Broadway community. She even had nasty comments to say about COME FROM AWAY and DIANA being filmed. She’s quite toxic.

Brody, the same comments were made about Come From Away and Diana on her Twitter page. She was also saying negative thigns about the annoucement of Annie Live for its lack of diversity. And, I get Diana is a pretty bland, white dominated story, Come From Away is more diverse, but at the same time includes real people which you can't always change the gender or sexuality of espically as it was created through interviews of people, and as for Annie I feel like how can judgement be fully passed if you know nothing about the casting or the creative time for the project. If there are no BIPOC or diversity when announced then yes, demand more.
How do you get angry at the chick before its egg has even been layed
SuttonRoss, correct. Would never have thought to check to make sure that the lead would be doing a Saturday night show, rather than the alternate. Very unusual for a lead to not do a Saturday night performance, of all nights. And, there was nothing on the Ticketmaster site indicating who was playing the role of Tina on different nights.
That's interesting, people deserve transparency and a correct schedule for when people go on. Emergencies obviously cannot be helped.
Absolutely, if there's an emergency or the performer is out ill, then an insert will go in the program, and it's posted on the cast board in the theatre lobby. I really enjoyed the show. I'm coming back in Sept and have tickets for "Moulin Rouge" - first performance, and "Little Shop." Would love to see "Tina" again, but it won't have reopened by then. Will be back at the end of April for 2 weeks, so I'll see it again then.

Her comments about Annie didn't irritate you? See you at Moulin.

Thanks for all the information. I think I will just take my chances and buy tickets to a Saturday matinee. Hopefully she will be in, but it sound like her understudy/alternate is also great!

FWIW, Adrienne was scheduled to be out Saturday matinees before. She didn’t perform Wednesday or Saturday matinees for the most part. There were a couple cases where they changed that schedule and noted it in advance (mainly on holiday weekends). Then there were also a few times when she was out unannounced. But the typical schedule for her was all evening shows and Sunday matinees with her alternate doing the Wednesday and Saturday matinees. However this could change when the show reopens (if she actually returns). Just something consider when purchasing :)

Your privilege is showing. And your ignorance, too. Try, for just a moment, to let go of those pearls and think why she might be right.
You can be a fan of Broadway and understand her larger point about inclusion and being seen. For goodness sake. Toxic? Only your comments register as toxic to me.
Adrienne Warren not only deserves the Tony, she deserves our deepest respect for asking for inclusion. INCLUSION. Did you get upset when Kapernick kneeled? SMH.
WTF does this posting of hers have to do with anything about INCLUSION? I support her stand on this on every level. That is her right and I’m proud she is using her platform on this.
But… she’s now simply attacking her peers who are working in these shows AND who will be getting paid for which is how they all make a living, like she does - in a Broadway show. ANNIE hasn’t even been cast so her including it shows HER ignorance if she’s trying to make an INCLUSION reference.

Not to mention, her peers have been out of work and income for almost a year and a half due to the pandemic.

Her criticism of Come From Away is particularly tone deaf, and might even prove that she hasn’t seen or understood the show.
Come From Away is based on a true story, based on real people that came from all different walks of life and backgrounds. There were stories of experiences from several different minorities, races, sexual orientations, and religions. And it talked about bigotry and acceptance for all different groups. It is certainly not a pasty white Christian show. So her gripe with the show not being inclusive enough to be shared with the masses is insulting to other minorities that also don't get their stories told and is actually doing much more harm than good.
That show is how those artists chose to tell those stories. If that’s not good enough for her then she could go out, write a show her way, produce and cast it her way, and then pay for it to be filmed and released. But there’s no point in shaming other artists for telling a true story about their experiences. It actually stifles inclusion.

1. shes a brilliant performer and a superhuman vocalist. no question.
2. her alternate in Tina was damn good, and the show will do well (or not) regardless of her participation.
3. i have no idea what she is actually complaining about re bway (yes more inclusion is wonderful, who is against that, but what does it mean in practical terms? im sure she and karen olivo re hard at work figuring it out), but to call out other shows being filmed (ie...not her show?) is an ugly look (and especially re Come From Away, which wasn't my cup of tea but does a beautiful job re racial/religious harmony and has a truly diverse company). Is there a show (other than her own) she is suggesting should be filmed/produced that isnt? Maybe- but then share, baby. This vague statement that sorta makes it seem nefarious that other shows are being filmed turns my stomach and of course, changes absolutely nothin.

LOL! Yeah you may be right. Although, some of his parody songs make me laugh.
Other than that... he can be unbearable.
He was at Sondheim's 90th Birthday celebration video, still on YouTube.
Thank you for the tip BCfitasafiddle. Unbearable? Well, this one is a winner, so I'll overlook his Sondheim performance!!! LOLOL
