HAHA. I just wrote on the other thread that I didn't like Matilda that much, but that I didn't hate it or anything...
FELA I hated... If I had a cyanide capsule handy I would have considered it... (a bit dramatic, but that is how miserable I was... I couldn't even figure out which song we were on in the program to count them down to the end...lol). Never again.
Is this on tour now or something? Otherwise, isn't this thread a couple of years late to the party?
It plays the Ahmanson in LA from April 25 to May 5.
Ahhh, got it. Now a whole new audience to be baffled by it. I actually didn't hate it, but then again, I had comps, and cocktails helped.
I thought Fela was wonderful and exciting.

I find bigotry and misogyny and homophobia exciting and wonderful, too.
Just so there is NO CONFUSION here, I have seen Fela and I really enjoyed the artistry of the piece.

I don't, but your honesty is refreshing.

Good. Which is why I find your insistence in the other thread so out of character. ( not meant as a dig at you. You know I've been trying to get in your pants for years)
I did leave at intermission when I saw it in NYC. Just not my thing.
Mine neither.
Oh, it's not out of character for me to comment on a silly remark. I just don't offer up an opinion on a show I haven't seen, so I participate in other aspects of the discussion.
But if I seem out of character, I've been a little testy because I've been cycling through the same cold/sinus infection for three weeks and it's driving me nuts. So I get a bit irritable. It'll pass.
Got it. Going thru something similar. HATE IT.
