But...no one is arguing that distasteful conversations are illegal. They are simply acknowledging that those types of conversations memorialized in writing among members of place of business and, most particularly, those who help fund that place of business are absolutely grounds for termination based on the company's terms of employment. That's so basic as to wonder why anyone is questioning this.
What may actually have legal consequences is the recording and distribution of images of a non-consenting party. And that's what people here seem to be asserting as actionable in terms of the law.
I made some really f*cked up comments to a friend last night over text and had the thought, 'Jesus, these are career-ending texts!' But they were funny. And they had nothing to do with my place of employment. But they were in writing. Every time I've sent a picture of myself that may be considered provocative, I've thought, 'I have to be ok with the ramifications of this coming out.' And I'm fine with that. I can take responsibility for my actions. And that's what these men need to do now.
Not sure if it means anything in particular, but worth noting that Ranasar is out of Carousel this evening.

I notice they don't mention that it was anything official as there is no official statement. He could have called in sick- I don't think I'd feel like going to work tonight either if I were him .
“Given to,” to me, sounds like they’ve replaced him.

I noticed some critical messages started coming into his latest IG post where he quoted "You'll Never Walk Alone" and all of his friends and fans were giving him messages of support like a week ago earlier today. He now set his IG to private.
A cast list for that particular show on a Broadway callboard is pretty standard, given how frequently swings and understudies go on. However, although he may not be “officially” replaced, the show closes in ten days anyway and he may just be, um, “not on” for the remainder of the run. I guess we’ll see.
I was there last night (the 6th) and Ramasar was, indeed, out of the show. It could very well be permanent through the end of the run. Rosena M. Hill is on the Understudy board as Nettie even though Rene Fleming has left the production - and we got slips in our programs to that effect. I would doubt he'll be back.
The Distinctive Baritone said: "That’s weird about Rosena. Did the slips say “at this performance” or “is now being played by?” Equity won’t let her be an understudy to no one."
They say "at this performance." Renee is still in the playbill.

When I saw the show last Tuesday, Renee Fleming's name is still on the main board. On the smaller board next to it, it stated Rosena would perform the role of Nettie Fowler.

Wow, creepy all the way down the line. From the filming, to the sharing and everything else these straight (I'm with everyone else, who knew there were so many straight male dancers ) male dancers did, to the fact she went through his private messages on his personal computer and the fact she is also suing NYCB (I guess she needs the deep pockets to get real money).

Honest question: did I miss where it said she went through their messages? News travels fast in a company like that. Also, what they did is still illegal. Nice try, though.

If merely discussing gross fantasies with your buds (either verbally or in writing)were illegal, every group of bros in every bar in America would find themselves incarcerated (and many women as well)."
But every group of bros in America is not associated with a major organization. They're under scrutiny by association, not because they were unemployed and chatting in their basement about it. Huge difference. If I go and chat with my bros from any job about it, I can't be surprised for getting fired and my job making the matter public.

Another reason to hate the tonally deaf clusterf*ck that is the 2018 Carousel Revival."
did you even see it? you are all in a competition to be the biggest theater snob, its sad. yes the director is batsh*t and cost them the tony, but its still a wonderful production all around and is in no way tone deaf.

What are you talking about? If the director cost them the Tony, that means the production isn't wonderful all around. The direction was bad. There are highlights to it, but it's not an "all around" wonderful production. Obviously, this is subjective.
They didn't have to outright fire him, but letting him continue performing after he has been publicly outed for such gross behavior is wrong. They have no obligation to fire him, but that doesn't mean we can't think it's bad that they're continuing to let him perform as if nothing happened.
I didn’t think the CAROUSEL revival could get anymore problematic.
