Any news about these shows? They were so fantastic out of town.
Haven't heard anything about Little Dancer in like two years.
Amélie is scheduled to open in L.A. in December and then on Broadway in the spring. It's a matter of time when the Broadway move gets announced. Keep waiting.

Little Dancer is being workshopped currently with, I believe, commercial producers attached. Hopefully we'll see it on Broadway next season!
Rebecca Luker is at least still attached. She mentioned it on the Theater People podcast.

According to this article from last June, a workshop should be finishing up right about now. LIttle Dancer

Saw the workshop for Little Dancer this week. It's in fantastic shape.
Amelie has a theater on lock. It's coming in. They won't announce the theater until after the LA run, I suspect.

How does one get invited to these workshops and readings? Is it just for potential investors?

^ Not necessarily. It also always helps to actually work in the industry and/or be connected to, or friends with, someone associated with the property...

Also, just to echo what everyone else has said... Amelie is definitely coming to Broadway but spring would be surprising. I think it will be closer to early summer if what I've heard is accurate. Little Dancer wrapped up a successful workshop/reading this past week. A number of commercial producers are attached to both projects, and I imagine they already have much of the financial backing secured.

Nothing is certain yet, but Amelie is 100% aiming to open on Broadway by the cutoff for the 2017 Tonys.

The Broadway.com article that announced the cast of Amelie last week stated that it's still aiming to land in Spring.

Of course, that's always the hope. Hence the use of the word "aiming," but I know they haven't reached full capitalization for a Broadway transfer and the deal for the venue of their liking is only tentative; not official. We'll see. It's more than possible... I'd just be surprised. That's all.

If I recall, there was an article stating that OYF! Was closing Nov 20. I know it was proven that it was'nt true, but perhaps it could be hinting that it will be gone this winter?
The Walter Kerr, Lyceum, Helen Hayes, Palace, and Studio 54 are vacant for the spring still. Plus, the Music Box and Longacre could potentially be vacant by the spring as well.
Music Box isn't likely to be empty by the spring. Circle in the Square would be a far safer bet.

In what world would the Music Box be open by the spring? It's amusing to me how many either don't realize or believe the significant advance DEH is carrying over into its transfer. It will stay open into the summer. There's no question about that.
Okay good for them. It's also an unknown musical opening during the worst time with no stars in the show. They need good reviews, but even that might not keep them afloat. Plus it sounds like a snooze fest.
It's adorable how you think your uninformed opinion matters more than trivial things like advanced sales or word of mouth. Dear Evan Hansen won't be going anywhere any time soon.
I'm not one to defend Headband (ever), but Kinky Boy, you're wrong here.

I swear I read that in Sarah Palin voice and it was perfect!
My guess is that Amelie will be taking the Walter Kerr. Perfect size theater for that show.

Are you saying you haven't even seen it and you think it is going to close before the Tony Awards? It is far from unknown. There is a good chance it could WIN best musical and/or Ben Platt could WIN best actor. It is a fantastic musical. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but you should see it before you make such a bold prediction. My opinion is that it is laughable to think it may close this spring. I would say of the new musicals opening this winter/early spring, it is the least likely to close this spring.
Plus it sounds like a snooze fest.
You realize that statement is indicative of nothing, right?
