S-C-O-T-T! Buh bye!

It's erie how close KSP1994 was with that list.
Do you know someone at AI? :)

Who originated that version of One Hand One Heart on that updated West Side Story CD? The name escapes me.
Also, BO ROCKED THE HOUSE!! I hate that song, but I love that version. Another question - the little backup voices singing "Doo dooo dooo doo doood doood dooo dooo" - thats a snipped from another song. Did anyone else catch that? Maybe the Eagles or something. Help, it's on the tip of my chords!

That show last night pissed me off. The amount of people on there who said they'd never heard of 9 of the most well known songs in the musical theatre cannon. Corner of the Sky was the only real obscurity-as butchered a version as it was. And the complaining that took place-I just heard this song last week...You just heard Impossible Dream and People last week?

UGH. What a mess of a show. I think the only one that did a decent job was Carrie purely because she is the best vocalist on the show. No strain, no reaching for notes. The fact that it was a bit country was the fault of the arranger trying to suit her voice. Everyone else was awful.

They really should have gone with some modern Broadway for these kids. Rent would have been a given. Let Bo take a crack at "One Song Glory" (sorry Constantine) and Nadia or maybe Vonzell do a little bit of "Out Tonight." Or Les Miz, maybe Aida. At least we weren't subjected to "On My Own" for the billionth time.

Eh. I'm glad it's over. The results tonight should be interesting. My bets are on Scott or Anthony getting the boot.

And now all of middle America is going to mock musical theatre, or think these songs/renditions represent the quality of the shows they are in. I think musical theatre already has a stigma of being Frivolous and frothy, and this night didn't help matters in my opinion.

that's funny, Feathah - I was thinking the same thing about Bo and "One Song Glory"

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

Don't worry Bobby, not all of us middle americans are uncultured. Everyone I watched with last night knew the songs better than the contestants, and all were disgusted by the abysmal performances. There were so many things wrong with last night's episode that I can only explain it as a trainwreck. Updated On: 4/6/05 at 12:41 PM

Is it just me? I wasn't blown away by Constantine's performance on Broadway performance night, and he is the most trained out of all of them in the Broadway element. He wasn't dreadful, but I would expect more. The last note was soooooooooo flat! And he looks like he is in pain when he sings. Is that true they won't have guest judges anymore? That's too bad. It always adds a fun twist to the evening. No more Barry Manilow night re: American Idol tomorrow..
