Oh man, this is exciting casting. I can’t wait to see a younger woman’s take on Amanda. Definitely something I’ll be seeing a few times at least.

For once we don't have to hear how the star of a revival is "too old" for the part.
Yeah, kind of a “reset” for the character. Now maybe we can do that with the next GYPSY revival, too.

Inspired casting. But two actors playing Tom? Geez...
I don't know how the Tom situation will work...but I adore both those actors and Adams and Herrin.
Wasn’t planning to add another show to my docket when I visit in June, but here we are.
Anyone else able to purchase tickets yet? How’d you do it? The website isn’t loading for me.
Not loading for me, either.
I’m open to the idea but not sold.
Color me there! This is great casting. As for splitting the role of Tom, it sounds fine to me. I’m sure the older actor will be doing the narrating and the younger actor will do the scenes. The text would easily support that choice.
I imagine there'll be some trading off and "dueting" for the role of Tom...Jeremy Herrin seems like too interesting a director to just have Paul Hilton do the narration part.
Interesting that the Williams estate has allowed this.
I’m still praying Paul Hilton wins the Tony in a few weeks. I can’t think of anyone more deserving than him this year in that category.
Hopefully this transfers to the US. I love Amy.
Yeah, this makes me want to go to London. How exciting, and such a great role. The two Toms thing just makes sense. And I could see some interesting like "shadowing" going on and stuff.
Sad I didn't see the Fields revival that was apparently...not great.

I had never seen/read the play prior to the Sally Fields revival. I am a huge fan of Sally Fields. Others may have disliked the revival, but I was thoroughly entertained and enjoyed it.
I thought that was one of the WEIRDEST things I’d ever seen.

AMEN TO THAT.
Amy Adams is versatile as F, and this could be very cool. The Sam Gold production was a disaster so I'd love to see what they do with it here, and also hoping for a NY transfer.

I was, at times, very uncomfortable with some of the scenes with the actress who played the daughter. But I would pay to watch Sally read the Yellow Pages. At stage door, she didn't disappoint. Just one of my favorites.
Sally was great and seeing her onstage was a thrill. But, for me, the gimmicky production completely overshadowed her. For old plays like this, I’m all for trying out new stuff. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t.
Totally. I love a big swing and I'm sad I never got to see it. I love a hot mess of a classic. And I love Williams, so I'd love to see Adams in this. Is this her professional stage debut? She hasn't done anything in NYC right?
She was The Bakers Wife in “Into the Woods” in Central Park a while ago.

I remember years ago, when you hadn't made the trip yet. I was offering you suggestions on cheap deals for flights and hotels. Now, you've gone, who knows how many times...but definitely more than me. I just hope you take the time to do the tourist things like visiting Hampton Court Palace and Westminster Abbey. Even the Tower of London.
Ha! I’ve done all those except Hampton Court but it’s on my list. Maybe I’ll see if i can squeeze that in, in a couple weeks! <3

Go see it. It's great. Not sure due to covid but do you take the train to other cities just to wander around for the day? Bath? York? London isn't a great spot for one day trips to other countries. But I used to love to be, for example in Amsterdam and take the train for a day trip to cities in Belgium, Germany or France.

Amen again. Applaud the attempt to try out new things (and a disabled Laura makes sense to me, and could be great), but this production fell flat and was Trying Way Too Hard. Which is a shame because Field did good work, as did Mantello and blanking-on-his-name but he was also great in Death of a Salesman with PSH.
