A talkative bird told me today.

Don't believe everything that bird chirps.

Well, I hope this happens. He is one of my favorite musical theatre actors on Broadway. This would be a wonderful opportunity for him.
If it's true, I'm so glad he keeps getting work, he's so talented. I could really see him as Rocky, too and it may get me to see the show.
Is a talkative bird Orfeh?

If 'Enchanted' was ever made into a musical, Karl would also be perfect as Prince Edward.
Lol. No. But I have no reason to not believe the bird.
This just made me a little more interested in the project. (But just a little.)
Perfect casting. And the guy is so hot!
Rocky?!

He's been doing readings and workshops of this musical since 2010. Didn't realize this was news...
Involvement in readings means nothing when it comes to full productions.

He has been attached to all U.S. incarnations. It was more than a safe bet that he would play Rocky, I thought.. Still don't get it. But whatever
Stephanie J. Block played Elphaba in every workshop and reading of Wicked, but when the Pre-Broadway production came to fruition, they wanted to bring in a star. Cut to Idina Menzel.
Playing a role in every reading means NOTHING. We will only see when there is an official announcement.
"Stephanie J. Block played Elphaba in every workshop and reading of Wicked,"
This is untrue. Menzel was in a workshop, I saw one!
"when the Pre-Broadway production came to fruition, they wanted to bring in a star. Cut to Idina Menzel. "
The word I heard was they were looking for someone with more experience. Menzel wasn't exactly a "star." Hell she played Aida just before she took Wicked and nobody was busting down doors to see here.
Her jaw was the true star!

My B.

Would you, as a producer, want a complete unknown to headline your multi-million-dollar new musical, or an established Tony nominee with *some* name recognition?

Here is Block explaining her journey during the workshops of 'Wicked'.

ETA: I really do hope that it is Karl who plays the lead role in this new musical, but if they don't get him then I hope they get someone as equally talented.

I'd love to see Tony Yazbeck as Rocky.
Andy Karl is definitely manly enough.
I watched the German video and was surprised that I actually want to see this...
I would go see Andy Karl as Rocky.
I still think this is a laughably stupid idea for a musical.
But I would go see Andy Karl as Rocky.
(But who will they ever get to play Bullwinkle?)

Not as exciting as a lead role, but I know Adam Perry was offered ensemble in this production.
