Are people hopeful Katie Finneran will get a Tony nod in the featured category for Annie, or will she be unrecognized do you think? I think she'll still manage a nomination...
I didn't know her performance wasn't well received. I haven't really paid attention to the Annie reviews. I thought she was doing a high caricature, which is a perfectly valid way to play Hannigan, but the whole show was meh.
I suspect she'll get a nod for being Katie Finneran, and to match her other featured actress noms for Promises, Promises and Noises Off... If she was petitioned as lead, I'd say she wouldn't even get nominated, but for featured, I'd imagine they'll nominate her. But then again, who knows? What's the competition like nomination-wise for featured actress in a musical?
there is no way she will be nominated no one likes her in it and everyone was so excited at first when she was announced in this role and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing parts of this season.
Yes. the whole revival was a mess with mixed reviews. It never really peaked. Finneran will be overlooked.
They should have cast McArdle.
