Posted: 4/25/13 at 1:46pmAre people hopeful Katie Finneran will get a Tony nod in the featured category for Annie, or will she be unrecognized do you think? I think she'll still manage a nomination...

Posted: 4/25/13 at 1:52pmVery few people spoke of her performance as good, let alone excellent or award-worthy, did they?
#4Are we ruling out Finneran?
Posted: 4/25/13 at 1:53pmShe could probably get a nom but it will be tough for her to win.

Not trying to mean-spirited, as I truly like Katie Finneran, but yes, her performance is basically widely regarded as a failure.
newintown, maybe we can get Rev. Wanda to do some prayer bombardment on her behalf...

Posted: 4/25/13 at 2:04pmI didn't know her performance wasn't well received. I haven't really paid attention to the Annie reviews. I thought she was doing a high caricature, which is a perfectly valid way to play Hannigan, but the whole show was meh.

Posted: 4/25/13 at 6:50pmI suspect she'll get a nod for being Katie Finneran, and to match her other featured actress noms for Promises, Promises and Noises Off... If she was petitioned as lead, I'd say she wouldn't even get nominated, but for featured, I'd imagine they'll nominate her. But then again, who knows? What's the competition like nomination-wise for featured actress in a musical?

Three women from Pippin
Annaleigh Ashford
Two women from Matilda
Keala Settle
Victoria Clark
Three women from Drood
I think there's lots to choose from.

Posted: 4/25/13 at 7:05pmthere is no way she will be nominated no one likes her in it and everyone was so excited at first when she was announced in this role and it turned out to be one of the most disappointing parts of this season.

Posted: 4/25/13 at 7:13pmYeah true, she has stiff competition... Harriet Harris for Cinderella too, no?
#17Are we ruling out Finneran?
Posted: 4/25/13 at 7:16pmYes, she's in the mix too. Maybe Ann Harada even. Or the women from Chaplin.

Yes. the whole revival was a mess with mixed reviews. It never really peaked. Finneran will be overlooked.
They should have cast McArdle.
