I saw the matinee of Summer yesterday afternoon and Ariana Debose was using a cane for most of the show. Does anyone know what happened to her? I don't think it was supposed to be part of the show.

I'm trying to picture her dancing with a cane.

Are there that many reasons why people start needing a cane? I'm going to go with... she hurt her foot?
If she's injured, why can't her understudy go on instead?
Ugh, that must suck. That's such a physical role, she does so much dancing, not to mention the fight choreography. Was her understudy not ready, or were there Tony voters there? I can't imagine why she'd otherwise try to get through the show.

I'm guessing Tony voters
I didn't want to start a new thread on this, but as long as someone mentioned the fight sequence, I thought I'd offer my thoughts.
This scene, including Enough Is Enough, was the (unintentional) funniest thing I've seen on a stage in a long time. I thought the entire show falls into the "its so bad its good" category but having Donna use a Barbra Streisand coffee table book to slap the gun out of her ex-husbands grip was pure, hysterical genius.
But was it as good/bad as THE LOOK OF LOVE?
