I've heard that it's a usual thing, but I hate to think that. He's a great singer...and I'm sure it's only been a few instances.

Question for all of you "veteran" theatergoers... I was planning a trip to NYC over Thanksgiving weekend, and I thought I'd see bare during this trip. Can anyone comment on cast during holiday performances?? (as in, will understudies be filling several roles during holiday performances, as the lead actors will go home for the holidays-- or do they treat these performances just as important as any other??) Since I live in Arkansas and don't have the luxury of going to NYC that often (although I was just there a couple of weeks ago)-- I hate to come up to find that the cast is out and the understudies are filling in.

Thanks for any input you can provide!!!

Bumping this thread, how dare we let it go to the middle of the second page!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure the actors treat the shows the same way they would any other show. Of course an actor being out is always a risk you'll take around the holidays, but give understudies a chance, they're not as horrible as you think. I'm sure you'd ideally like to see all the leads, but there's always a risk even when it's not a holiday.

Question for those who know the history of Bare. In the LA production, was Claire ever referred to as "the soccer mom"? Or is that a totally separate part?

Kinda like the short hair.....need to get used to tho. I might get yelled at, but who is that in the pic with him? LOL...forgive my ignorance.

And yeah, my mom was talking with some friends who own a local music hall, and apparently one of the regular performers there originated the role of the "soccer mom" in Bare. Her name is Beth Thompson if that helps anyone out.....

Yeah, I'll need to get used to the short hair too, it'll be longer by September though.

That's Gavin Creel with Mikey, he originated the role of Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie, he got a Tony nom for it too. Amazingly talented, and very good looking

They were probably referring to Clair...most likely. I don't have a definite answer, need someone who's seen the show lol.

I love the short hair (but I'll miss the blond; of course, I said the same thing about the brown). Yet Michael always looks good with that sunshine smile of his. I know people would KILL for that smile!

I just got home (2 37 am)! AHHH amazing pictures! Haha Michael and Gavin!!!! When i was looking at the pics i stopped and stared for a good 5 mins! So amazing!!!

Shame on you 2day for not knowing the amazingness that is Gavin! I love him just as much as Mikey!!!

What a nice way to end the night! :) :)
