I truly have no idea. If she was the lead, would she sell lots of tickets. I have no sense of where her career these days. Think the idea of her as older character is good, particularly if she sells tickets.

Stories of terrible behavior, from non-payment of artists he contracted to sexual harassment and other problematic behavior have floated around Todrick Hall for years.

I think that seems like really good casting. Certainly makes me more interested in seeing it if/when it comes to Broadway.

Jackie Burns seems more like someone’s drunk bff, she’s not coming across as motherly nurturing bff

And you determined this from a 10 second video clip where she said 3 words? Gotcha.

I fast forward a lot of this movie, even Cher on vocals but the staged musical numbers are great.Just add more tits and feathers and a hunky bar man[or 12], lots of back stage drama and there you have Burlesque.
This could move straight in after Cabaret and use exactly the same everything.

Has anyone seen this? The audience reaction seems very enthusiastic. It also looks like there’s a turntable. How’s Jackie Burns ??

It's going to Glasgow and then back to Manchester next month. Chill.

I’m seeing it in two weeks in Glasgow so can report properly but a friend saw it in Manchester and said Jackie Burns was the weak link in a very, very strong cast. That’s not to say she was weak as my friend said she absolutely wasn’t, it’s just the entire cast are so good and her character isn’t completely fleshed out.
I’m very excited to see her live in Glasgow of all places so I’ll definitely report back.

Interesting that they haven’t announced the cast yet. Wonder what changed from Manchester/Glasgow to now…

Someone on TheatreBoard has suggested the show is going through substantial changes such as new director, a lot of new creatives behind the scenes, and almost new cast. They said Todrick has commandeered the show.
