Looks like Steven Antin/Kate Weatherhead on Book
Christina Aguilera, Sia, and Diane Warren on music
Jess Folley and Todrick Hall on additional music (disclaimer: I am NOT a Todrick Hall fan)

Is this the movie that made Aguilera and Cher? LOL one of the worst movies I've seen in years!

1. Just because an entity name has been set up, doesn't mean this is anything more than a reading/workshop --it's just a way to enter into a contract with (and pay) people.
2. Foresight is a GM -- not a producer.
3. Not sure if your opinion of Todrick Hall required any sort of a disclaimer -- but glad you were able to get that off your chest.

God this board is so ungrateful.
Next time I have information I'll just keep it to myself!
The movie is one of my guilty pleasures.
There better be a Famous Amos cookies song.

I appreciate the info!! But definitely know how you feel!! It’s the worst feeling when you post something and then people get snarky with you, especially when we’re all just trying to be helpful! Know that I am grateful for any and all information shared!! :)

Yet another musical based on movies, smdh
Maybe Alan Cumming will reprise his worthless role from the movie.

I was really let down by the movie - so much talent, such a great title/theme, so much wasted.
I hope the show actually deals with, you know, Burlesque as a subject, and doesn't just throw the word around because it sounds nice.
A heavy rewrite or total rewrite of the movie would be appreciated. I suppose a few of the songs could stay, but that plot was as dull and cliche as they come.

Thank you for sharing the information. And JSquared2's shtick is to be as nasty as possible. They are best ignored and shouldn't be held as representative of the board.

"Haven't Seen The Last Of Me" is the best number in the movie and a definitely a crowd-pleasing 11 o'clock number in the making. Hope they can come up with some comparable tunes to fill in the rest of the runtime.

god lord not ever movie needs to be a stage musical, please make it stop.
Shouldn't they at least choose a successful movie to adapt instead of a bomb?
FWIW, at least one person out there in the world thought that all the movie needed was an edit to make it less cheesy. Maybe this turns out to be a similar exercise. But I doubt it.

Success on film doesn’t translate to success on stage, financially or creatively. It should never be a consideration when choosing to adapt.
Decided to throw in my Blu-ray on this rainy day, and, between this and Easy A, 2010 was Tucci as his absolute hottest.
As for the movie, I genuinely enjoy it, and I don't hate the idea of a stage version.

The writing team for this is a bit of a joke. Sia, Xtina, Todrick, AND their leading lady. They should've just had Christina and Linda Perry write it. They'd still be pop songs but they'd be good pop songs. I wonder if she's actually even involved or are they just keeping Bound To You so she's getting a credit.
Word on the gay street is that Christina will be playing the role of Tess so this actually makes two of the leads as co-writers

I truly have no idea. If she was the lead, would she sell lots of tickets. I have no sense of where her career these days. Think the idea of her as older character is good, particularly if she sells tickets.
